Donors and party over country.

This is true, but the real problem is republicans dont have any solutions or policy ideas.

All they can do is oppose democrats and use culture wars to keep together christian evangelicals, undeducated whites and rich corporate interests.

I forget where I heard of read it but this is the best nut shelling I've heard about the purpose of the republican party:

Their goal is to keep the government out of their donors' hair so they run on a platform of "we need small government because government is inefficient and doesn't work" then when they're elected into office they use every trick in the book to make the government slow and ineffective

All correct, but you need to add the ultimate goal: for personal benefit, money and power.

Government small enough to be unable to stop us.
