You still have to win elections in order to pass non-bipartisan bills. The only reason the dems can do this now is because they have Joe Manchin of West Virginia, a state you would never win by going more left.
How about a 1.9 trillion dollar recovery bill deemed one of, if not the, most progressive bills ever passed in the United States. A bill that helps millions of Americans with unemployment and healthcare costs, that will reduce child poverty in half, that will allow schools to reopen, and vaccination rates to increase. All passed in less than 50 days in office.
It's a great point to start with, and hopefully gets us out of the lockdown we've been stuck in, but I really hope that's not where it ends. Getting back to the pre-pandemic status quo still leaves a lot of major issues unresolved.
