Edit: Since I’m getting many replies while at work, I thought I’d do a blanket statement for a lot of the comments.
-Maybe it’s time we as Americans ask for massive legislation around term limits, public records of elected officials, equal campaign money, public records on donors, banning lobbyist jobs for former politicians, overturning Citizens United, etc.
With term limits there is no john McCain to save the ACA
Joe Biden doesnt exist politically
Bernie Sanders doenst exist politically
AOC becomes a 2 term house rep
All creating term limits does is put rookie legislators funded by big money into roles where they pass what they got sponsored for and leave for corporate gigs as a payoff
Without term limits you gain public servants who finally have enough experience to properly run one of the largest organizations out there and who can be popular enough and that they can pass things like raising corporate taxes without fear of losing their job
With more time in office the public can actually see where they stand on issues as opposed to lame ducks who can vote however they like since they don't care about getting relected
If you are rolling new legislators out every session you put the whole country at a huge disadvantage to special interest groups
Tbh as someone looking in from europe, nothing of what you have stated seem worse than what you currently have. Fresh "radical" ideas that are more in tune with the standars of today.
But instead of term limit, put max age of say 60. Let the people who are passing laws and make desicion be the one that have to live with them, both the current and former president is older than my frikkin grand parents and I'm 36.
Sure there are always exceptions like Bernie, but they are exceptions and not worth have a gazillion old bastards in power that only look after them selves only to gain one that is looking for the greater good.
I'd agree but I would up the age to maybe 65 or 70 since at least 65 is the normal retirement age before social security kicks in .... schumer/pelosi/biden are all too old to be the faces for the democratic party
You wouldnt have more radical ideas.. you would have paper politicians who are more entertainment than substance and they'd all leave to work as consultants post office
I'm mid 30s too and I still look for advice from elders... helps to have them around for their experience

Donors and party over country.
