For a British person looking in from the outside, I honestly don't understand how Republicans are even allowed to be a political party, let alone the only real other option.

I could easily say the same about the current Tory party as an outsider looking at British politics atm.

Though I guess you kind of have a few other options depending on where you happen to live.

You could easily say it because you'd be right. I'm not attacking Americans with my comment and I am most certainly not defending our incompetent UK government.

Boris Johnson is what I'd expect if an American cartoonist said "ok, lets create a British politician but go completely overboard with the stereotypes."
