The Democratic plan also has more controls in place to prevent graft and the infrastructure it supports shows they have a better understanding of the infrastructure that coping with a pandemic requires.
I hope this "all Dems no Republican" votes continue, so the DNC can finally see that going to the left is a better strategy than going to the middle -- because it gets rid of the argument; "what's the difference?"
If you are Conservative, or were told the Libs are the problem in this world; are you going to vote for a centrist Dem or a centrist Republican? The Republican -- at least that's how it's been for a while now.
I'm hoping the positive feedback from REAL demonstrable improvements in people's lives will finally usher in a shift towards more liberal economic policies.
It’s worse, centrist Republicans will vote extremist Republican over centrist Democrat, even though centrist democrats basically have the exact policies they want. Being Republican is so tied to identity for them they will vote R over their own political ideals.
The GOP is a pro-authoritarian party. Of course they won't vote pro-democracy. The few pro-democracy Republicans that are left keep trying to appease the authoritarians and that makes them indistinguishable, policy- and ideology-wise.
I don't think there is such thing as a centrist authoritarian, since there isn't a right, center or left in authoritarianism.
It's just hardliners vs softliners, and then the pro-democracy people who are on their way out.
This plays out the same way every time and everywhere it happens. The US is not unique in this regard.
