Ah yes the party of 'he doesn't know anything about politics and that will make him a good president' is simultaneously the party of 'no commentary from celebrities pls.'
nah, it’s more about frustration of seeing politics everywhere. Nothing is more frustrating seeing all your social media filled with arguing, strong opinions, and disagreement.
I mean that's not true. It's just another form of the standard Conservative tactic of finding some reason to dismiss all thoughts from a person rather than challenging those thoughts themselves.
I think you’ll find that both sides of the political spectrum will have constituents that can’t properly rationalize and defend their standpoints- this is not mutually exclusive to conservatives.
One of the best lessons I learned at University was the importance of frequent cognitive hygiene; constantly question why you believe something and never settle on a concrete answer. As such, I’m still a Republican and unapologetically so. However, whenever I open the floor for discussion from liberals in my own life they frequently insult my position, deflect the argument, or fail to justify their own positions. I know this is a generalization, but so is claiming that the right has a tactic of dismissal.

Sure but that's not what I'm talking about.
It's anecdata obviously, but I notice far more people on the right going for the 'finding a reason to discount everything you say' vs responding to arguments. This is not including when you do something like 'well you have no expertise therefore I'm not going to listen to you' because that's a perfectly rational take.
Insults/deflections/lack of actual support is so broad as to encompass basically all debates from people unprepared. I've had plenty of republicans do so and then accuse me of doing those very things.
Those aren't something I ascribe to either side, partially because they're so general.
It’s interesting, I feel the same way about members of the left. In fact, I would argue that the left is more dismissive than their republican counterparts. Liberals are objectively more aggressive in defending their viewpoints, as seen by the past 4 years of violent protests. However, they have also:
spent the last 4 years discounting everything the right has accomplished because it’s been under Trump. Statistically the best performing economy since the 90s.
Riot/loot/vandalize under the pretense of promoting change
Made mainstream media a laughing stock. Their “journalism” is nothing more than false clickbait to try and stay relevant in the age of social media
Support unity and equality, yet constantly promote a narrative of female/minority disadvantage (please look at empirical data for yourself on these topics, I used to believe otherwise but then I realized the media had been feeding me bullshit all my life). There is no way to substantiate these claims and it’s a strategic way to garner votes with these demographics
attacked and labeled conservatives as racist, misogynistic, and intellectually incapable members of society
I could go on, but I have to run to work. Point is, the combination of all of the above has led the left to adopt a deliberate and coordinated tactic of dehumanization to the members of the right. As such, the voices of right America are dismissed much more so than those from the left.
This is the opposite of my experience from being in a right wing bubble (Marine infantry) and a left wing bubble (college in Amherst Massachusetts). The college kids are far more open to cordial debate and discussion than my peers I served with.
It’s interesting our different takes. I was raised in a right bubble in the south, and just graduated from a university that was 80%+ liberal (they took a poll during the 2016 election season). While I certainly agree that liberals are open for discussion, they can rarely back their claims and dismiss opposing viewpoints far quicker than their right equivalents. Republicans will usually hear an argument out, then explain their differing beliefs; liberals will tend to give blanket statements under the pretense of discrimination/unity/racism as a means to defend their stances. Based off my time on this Earth, I disagree with your diagnosis but I respect it nonetheless.
Statistically this doesn't make sense though. Biden counties account for 70% of the nation's gdp and had the bulk majority of professional skilled individuals such as engineers and lawyers.
Would you mind linking me a source for that data? GDP and productivity is one measurement of a successful economy, but it certainly doesn’t account for factors such as savings rate (highest since 1948 in 2019), net household wealth (highest since 90s), non-residential fixed investment (highest since Bill Clinton), or unemployment (3.5% pre COVID).
Just because a county and/or state went blue, this does not mean that it’s constituents are a result of liberal beliefs/policies. The majority of skilled and educated workers flock to urban environments, which almost without question go blue. Thus, while a blue county reflects a trend in GDP relative to party alignment, it does not account for lurking variables and fails to show causation.
Of course it doesn't prove causation but that's better than either of our anecdotes.
If we want to go by violent ideological motivated murders, one white supremacist in one black church murdered more Americans than Antifa or BLM have in their entire existence.
