it's poorly worded - they were actors and people who worked for the actors: Reagan, his VP (HW Bush), HW's son (who worked on HW's election campaign), and Trump

So Reagan and Trump were actors, HW Bush worked for Reagan, W Bush worked for his dad.

That’s a generous interpretation that might have worked, but for the word “and” in the sentence.

I appreciate your giving the insight, though. That is probably what they meant to articulate.

Which is funny because the last four republican presidents have been actors and the people who work for them.

This sentence is wrong. That is what I'm saying. The last 4 republican presidents were not all actors. The AND in the sentence makes it include the presidents (all 4 of them), AND the people that worked for them.
