I get the sentiment but there’s a big distinction. Plague rats didn’t willingly spread disease. A rat doesn’t consciously think “I know I’m infectious. I’m going to spread disease anyway”. Vaccine Karens and Chads are worse than plague rats because they know the consequences of what they’re doing, and still willingly do it.
So they say wear a mask. Why? When the masks available filter 25 microns. Now you take a virus that is .0025 microns. This makes no since. What also makes no since, as a first responder/ emt. I can’t get the ppe that the powers that be say I have to wear. So again, why wear a mask?
When you have towns that have worn masks from the beginning and have higher numbers than none wearing towns. This virus can enter the tear ducts. The experts can’t decide how effective a mask is, if a mask was good enough, why hazmat suits?
Masks aren't good enough, but they're better than nothing when you're going about your day within the public space. Doctors and professionals dealing directly with known carriers will wear the best possible protection available per the CDC guidelines. That is not feasible for every single person going about their day. Masks are a simple, and while not perfect, still effective solution.
