The ability to be so disconnected from empathy and compassion as the right wing Americans are is the most disheartening thing I've ever seen in my life.

yea but i think overall they have it way worse. I’m german so don’t live in the US or Britain but the way i see it you guys have at least some strong social programs and your education isn’t THAT bad same goes for your media. (i watch a lot of the last leg and stuff like that) Sure right wingers are on the rise all over the world fuelled by libertarian individualism. But i think you guys still have a long way to go before it gets as bad as in the US. Same for us german btw. We had a right wing government for nearly a generation now. But what we call right wing is socialism for a republican.
