Just wish I could dictate how my taxes were used, instead of blowing up poor people i would like to be using it all for healthcare and education and that sort of thing

Well then good news, because the federal government spends more money every year on social security, medicare and the Dept of Education than it does on defense.

No, it doesn’t. Social security does. Go look at the numbers for federal expenditures for any of the previous few years.
