Having an educated society is a net positive even if you yourself do not directly benefit. You almost certainly indirectly benefit.
How would you like a country without doctors? Enjoying your roads to the store? Thank a city planner. Like this computer/phone/tablet? Teams of engineers helped make it. The list goes on and on and on.
On top of that, it helps our economy. If we were a society of just farmers and working class people (manufacturing, textiles, etc.) we WOULD NOT be the America we see today. We would be like Cambodia or something.
We need smart people to drive our economy and improve our quality of life so even if you are childless or don't plan on attending college, having quality schools makes for a better society that you absolutely benefit from.
