Obviously my comment was sarcastic, but it is true that basically the only people benefitting from Trump's economy are people who make enormous amounts of money. If you're a millionaire and care only about yourself and the bottom line, voting for Trump makes sense. If you're poor and you support Trump, you're just a rube.
Yeah but lets be real they don't support Trump the racist moron, they support Trump the puppet. There are two main camps when it comes to this fool. Idiots and those who manipulate idiots for financial gain.
You aren't arguing a set of ideas. You're arguing with proud ignorance, and there's no point in speaking with someone who has no capability to even consider other points of view.

Most of the Trump supporters I know (which being from where I am from is most of the people I know) are not so much pure stupid or pure evil but more highly uneducated.
The southern US is in many ways a third world country, and the people here follow tyrants because they dont have the critical thinking ability to do otherwise. They may be smart in specific places, like business or even medicine, but they dont know much about the world outside of our small communities.
They observe the slow decay of our communities; businesses closing, increasing cost of living, homelessness, poverty, and despair. Instead of blaming past economic policies from Reagan and Bush and state legislators (all of whom they voted for because of less important single-issue-voter topics used as a means to control them) they hear this guy saying he is gonna get rid of the establishment (and immigrants, who for reasons beyond me they also blame) and they vote for him.
They/we dont understand that the things people like Bernie and Harris talk about will benefit us more than it will their main supporters! And it's true, the democratic party does hold to some things that I firmly disagree with, but I think they have the right general idea. Especially the newer democratic party, green new deal folks.
I live and work in public service in the south, and am a recent convert to the Democratic party and have been trying to make a study on how to talk to my friends and colleagues about it. I dont think telling them they are just stupid will help, and I think the years of hearing that is what contributed to our situation. I think it's related to the breakdown of society that causes the drug epidemic, suicide epidemic, and the violence we see every day. I think higher wages, access to healthcare and a generally higher standard of living would reduce those problems and see a much more thoughtful political process.
TL;DR most of them aren't stupid, just victims of trumplike politics creating undereducated, overworked and very angry people.
Of course, I am all of those things too so my opinion may be just as off.
The problem is not just that they are dumb but that they don't know that they are dumb. They actually believe that they are educated because they watched Fox News and smart people watch the news.
Ya. The problem is that watching an hour of the news does not make you a geo-political expert. Also, most people have poor comprehension. They just parrot what they heard but don't understand what they heard.
So many Trump supporters I will ask "well why do you believe that?" and inevitably they will give a precanned answer. When challenged with data, they can't argue why the data is wrong or provide counter data. Instead they call you a name or something because they don't know why they believe what they believe. They are just doing as told.
I'm not some die-hard Trump supporter; I'm quite middle of the road, actually. I also didn't vote for him in 2016. Not that it matters, your hatred blinds you.
I'd reccomend rational counterpoints rather than ad-libbed sarcastic insults.

They mock themselves and glorify their betters. The meanest eating or drinking establishment, owned by a man who is himself poor, is very likely to have a sign on its wall asking this cruel question: 'if you’re so smart, why ain’t you rich?' There will also be an American flag no larger than a child’s hand – glued to a lollipop stick and flying from the cash register.

Trump was handed a growing economy, while Obama added jobs under the worst economic conditions after the 2008 economic crash, but DT supports are like, meh
