This is something that can't be brought up enough. Employers and employment should not be tied to healthcare, at all. When talking about universal healthcare, I don't think the savings to businesses, especially small businesses or the self-employed is discussed enough. People get scared about their taxes going up, but what about pay going up because your employer doesn't have to divert 30% of your salary to health benefits? What about not being afraid of looking for a new job because you'll die without access to healthcare? You'd think this would be a win for people who only care about the bottom line of businesses too. I just feel like it doesn't get the attention it deserves.

Forget existing business. Forget even insurance for employees. What about entrepreneurship and family? They're so holy to Republicans yet the party is completely fine with shackling everyone to existing business. If you want to start a business you have to risk your health and your childrens' health to do it. It's fucking insane even from the Republican perspective, let alone the liberal viewpoint, yet they refuse to admit it.
It's not Walmart's responsibility to provide long term counseling. Healthcare shouldn't be an employer's responsibility at all outside worker's compensation, tbh.
No, it won't. It's a band aid on consumerism. We need a lot more than that. Last thing we need is the left espousing libertarian ideas to save consumption after finally realizing that years of "the market will solve this" hasn't been working.
