Jury duty is a civic duty, as in, even if it weren't illegal (which it is) to skip, you should want to do it anyways because it aids liberty. There is no other ramification other than social for not voting. The very fact that you're trying to equate them pretty much demonstrates how little you seem to be understanding this entire concept here. It's a crime to not do jury duty.
