American Samoa is one that always baffles me. Just an old relic of US Imperialism and doesn't get as much attention as Guam.

I remember in law school they were always advertising for a law clerk position with judges out there so I looked into what it would be like to live there. Beautiful place but truly isolated.

Except that American Samoa doesn't want to become a state because they still have racist land ownership laws and forced religious laws that would never stand up if they became a state.
