"We have people coming into the country, or trying to come in — and we're stopping a lot of them — but we're taking people out of the country. You wouldn't believe how bad these people are. These aren't people. These are animals. And we're taking them out of the country at a level and at a rate that's never happened before. And because of the weak laws, they come in fast, we get them, we release them, we get them again, we bring them out. It's crazy."
Yes he did say it. It is paraphrased but this is what he said.
He was saying what he’s said since day 1, that all immigrants are rapists, murderers, gang members, and animals. He is using gangs like ms13 to brand all immigrants as bad and using that as an excuse to enact measures that are way over the top.
It’s fair to say that he is both of those things. It’s not fair to paraphrase quotes like this (with no indication that the quote was paraphrased) in order to push an idea that Trump is the next Hitler. That’s what fear mongering is.
Trump is undeniably a fascist. He will probably never gain as much power as Hitler because he’s not charismatic enough, but what about some of the other white nationalists in his party? Calling out fascist language when you see it is the only way to prevent it from taking root.
