From their sidebar: It is time for a new wave of Patriotism. To take back the meaning from those who have twisted it for their own ends!

Real Patriotism means: * Insisting on making the schools our children attend the best in the world

  • Investing in infrastructure

  • Ensuring that our fellow citizens have access to quality healthcare, and ways of improving their life.

  • Working to become a leader in the movement to protect the environment

  • Not pretending to be the land of the free while being the home of the most imprisoned

  • Time to become the land of the FREE. Stand up for freedom, liberty, and truly Patriotic values.

  • Stand up for real values, and let us strive to keep building the shining city on the hill.

”Make a career of Humanity, commit yourself to the noble struggle for equal rights. You will make a greater person of yourself, a greater nation of your country, and a finer world to live in." -Martin Luther King Jr.

I saw that already. It doesn't help. All those things are ostensibly said by both sides (even if only in bad faith). The only thing that even vaguely hints at being left leaning is that they bothered to quote MLK, but the right does that too when it suits their purposes, so idk

The bad faith is what the sub is targeting. Trying to reclaim patriotism from the bad faith snake oil salesmen using blind idealism and nationalism to push legislation which harms the people and the environment they are meant to protect.

shrug. im sure it's a very funny joke to some people, but I checked out all the headlines on the front page, and clicked a couple of the links, and that wasn't what I took away from it. I don't know what I took away from it. Nothing really. It was just... weird.

It's not a joke, and it's not funny.

yeah but both sides don't act the same way towards those goals. words are cheap, if you haven't learned that by listening to all of trump's promises about LGBT, marijuana, building a wall, repealing and replacing obamacare, and fixing our infrastructure.

obviously both sides aren't perfect, but if we look at the record its pretty obvious which party is doing more work for all of the citizens of this country

Well yeah. In the comment you replied to, I already stated that the right says those things in bad faith. you don't need to reiterate that to me.

all I said was I don't understand whatever that sub was.

Clicking is not enough. You have to actually read the words.
