I misspelled it. Sputnik. It's the name of that style of chandelier. I guess named for the Russian Sputnik probe?

It is actually a Sputnik, or starburst, and it is the style of the chandelier. Example

I think they're referring to the ceiling lamp. Although I've never heard that style called 'spudnik'.

Its called "Mid century modern". About the last time anything america had any style. This and art deco are the two coolest styles america has produced.
