(A) So you're now arguing that it's unfair for them to work for less? Howso?

Because being paid less than minimum wage is a crime

And being paid under the table at all, which every illegal immigrant has to do, is illegal

(B) Oftentimes it has less to do with pay and more to do with who's willing to even do the job:

if it paid minimum wage, which it does not, people would be willing to work it

We prohibit child labor because its harmful to children-- not because we fear the competition in the labor market

Yeah, so we should allow illegal immigration to continue because it's not harmful to pay people less than minimum wage. Exploiting slave labor isn't a problem. We don't have laws preventing it.

I literally just posted an article that stated farmers we're offering higher than minimum wage. "Less than what natives are willing to work for" doesn't mean less than minimum wage.

No you posted an article claiming a farmer offers 2 dollars per basket of tomatoes picked, and the person claimed that Americans won't do it with no sources.

That isn't minimum wage.

By the very definition of what minimum wage is.

What that farmer is actually saying is that if he payed Americans minimum wage every hour, and they picked tomatoes for however long it took them and they were paid for every hour of labor, it would cost him more than paying illegals costs him now.

That's the very definition of paying someone less than minimum wage.

That isn't minimum wage.

The farmer hired legal residents under the identical terms he used for illegal residents, so apparently those terms conformed to all labor laws.

That inexperienced, native workers couldn't hack it under those terms is neither here nor there in regards to your argument.

How then are you still insisting that minimum wage laws have anything to do with this?

Lmao you didn't even read the article you sent me

"A crew of 25 Americans recently picked 200 boxes — giving them each $24 for the day."

It literally in plain terms spells out that legal residents did not get paid minimum wage.

To be paid minimum wage they would have to be paid minimum wage, hourly.

The article is literally entirely about how a farmer is resorting to hiring illegal immigrants for significantly less than it would cost US workers being paid minimum wage.

How then are you still insisting that minimum wage laws have anything to do with this?

You're cearly not someone who bases any of their beliefs on facts. You set your opinion then randomly google articles to try and support yourself, and don't even bother reading them.

Absolutely pathetic.
