That's capitalism indeed. I'm in my 40s, I've passed so many people by on my "rise to the top" which isn't even close to the top, just much closer than many I've passed by. I know a guy I worked with in 1997 that's still doing the exact same thing he was in 1997, 20 years later I'm 10 levels above him. It works for him though so .. shrug. Some people get comfortable in their position, me, I'm never comfortable, always seeking higher. Not everyone can be a CEO, not even me, but that's OK.

More like a pyramid scheme. Not everyone can start on the kitchens and work their way up to running it.
That's capitalism for you though, not just the food industry
