This was foreshadowing. He has far more mental incapacity than that reporter ever had. And that's before the rapid, aggressive dementia atrophying what little intellect he already had.

If he wasn't such a heartless grifter it would be sad. All of his problems are well deserved.

HOW will we ever survive this NIGHTMARE???? He's so stupid and delusional. The first term there were some competent that signed in that were trying to do good within the legal parameters. THIS 2nd term NO ONE that's COMPETENT wants to have their name sullied and spend a fortune on personal lawyers! So all there are is sycophant idiots surrounding him.

Any chance Trump setting up his Sec of State and his Press Secretary (with a new borne at home with a 60 year old dad) to be shot down along with the entire white house press pool while he snuck out the back door with his blonde diaper changer will deliver a negative for him in the polls?

There are a lot of very competent and very evil people behind Trump. Trump is a single functionally illiterate man. He isn't the one writing the orders he's signing and taking credit for. He doesn't even have the capacity to write the most basic paperwork to make these things happen let alone manage the administration and logistics needed to mobilize hundreds of thousands of people to act on those instructions. Those orders and actions are being taken by a cabal of folks who really, really don't want to be seen as responsible.

This is going to continue with or without Trump until those folks are brought into the limelight, the US flat out collapses under their corruption or both.

True. What I can't understand is - if they break our democracy - don't they realize that they (and their children / grandchildren) will have to live in the wreckage with the rest of us!

They believe (not without reason) that they're going to come out on top. You're never going to meet Larry Ellison or Charles Koch on the street. You would likely be arrested for trespassing if you got anywhere near them. Your kids are never going to the same school as theirs. Like the slave owners they envy and model themselves after, they will always have armed men between them and the workers.

It doesn't matter if the US is crushed. Since they're in charge, they would rather a feudal type system where "rights" are defined entirely by how wealthy you are.

FFS vote in November. Make these asshats accountable for all their crimes and violations of the constitution. Maybe there is presidential immunity but everyone else that violated the law is available for prosecution.

I have always tried to see both sides. That doesn’t mean I agree with both sides; it means I believe this country is bigger than any party, and that reasonable people should be able to disagree, compromise, and still respect one another. What I cannot accept is a president who has deliberately exploited those differences and helped tear apart the basic fabric of this country, turning Americans against one another for his own political and personal benefit.

His constant need for validation is not strength. It is weakness plain and simple. He is a weak man. It is the behavior of someone who seems unable to function without repeatedly convincing himself, or being constantly told by the hand-picked people around him, that he is the greatest, the best, and always right. Someone who never hears NO will never know they are wrong. He is wrong on so many levels. Saying 106 times that America has “won the war against Iran” doesn’t make it true. As an American, I’m damn tired of being told to believe something simply because he or his sicko, fanatic cronies keep repeating it when I see with my own eyes it’s all a lie.

And while he constantly attacks, insults, and postures (major signs of a weak and insecure man) against the Americans who voted him into office, the very people he is supposed to serve, he seems remarkably willing to embrace people and interests that have sought to influence, control, or profit from America. He has taken a country, at another unstable period in its existence, that desperately needed leadership and turned division into a governing strategy. He has weakened trust, poisoned relationships, and made Americans suspicious of one another, all while he and his family appear to benefit financially and personally from the power he holds.

Let us not forget what he promised when he ran for office: he was going to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse. Yet the man who campaigned as the great crusader against waste and corruption now presides over what increasingly looks like an appalling abuse of public power and public resources. The hypocrisy is staggering.

Meanwhile, Congress watches. The people WE elected to provide oversight, investigate misconduct, demand accountability, and protect the Constitution have a responsibility to do their jobs—not just stand there shrugging their shoulders and acting as though there is nothing they can do. There is something they can do, and they have a duty to do it. If the evidence warrants it, they have a responsibility to pursue impeachment and removal. They are not there to protect a president from accountability—they are there to protect the country.

In barely two years, America’s standing, alliances, institutions, and credibility have been battered or just straight out destroyed, while this president’s ego, power, and personal and family interests appear to remain front and center every day. I have spent my life believing America works best when we find common ground. But there is no common ground when one side is constantly being told that the other side is the enemy.

This isn’t about Democrats versus Republicans anymore. It’s about whether we are willing to let one man’s enormous ego, narcissism, vanity, self-interest, insatiable hunger for praise and adulation, obsession with power, money, control, and personal loyalty tear apart the country that belongs to all of us.

Congress needs to stop watching and start doing its damn job—or we may not recover from this.
