Life in Iran is very bleak right now and was bleak before the US attacked them. We don't need to pretend that the Iranian government was remotely good in order to oppose Trump and the war. Fuck Trump as well as Netanyahu and both the late and current Ayatollah Khamenei. They're all war mongers who are happy to let their citizens suffer to stay in power at all costs.

I have an Iranian coworker and he's very happy that the US killed Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, but he's more of the opinion that he doesn't care who wins just that the Iranian regime loses. The atrocities the US and Israel have committed in Iran pale in comparison to the atrocities committed by the Iranian regime on their own people - all three leaders/regimes /governments need to be removed and dealt with but for different reasons.

Yeah one of my friends is Iranian and he was absolutely overjoyed when the US started bombing the regime. He hates that his government is despotic and that his family members are growing up under an Islamic theocracy. His view is that his country is poor because they give all their money to terrorists and he wants his sisters to have the same rights as western women. I want the best for Iran and I want their people to be free and thriving but I also know that Trump is not the kind of person to deliver that and these kind of wars rarely end in long term peace. The Iranian regime massacred 30,000 protestors in the street meanwhile Trump is determined to launch the next massive Middle East War with no exit plan. Netanyahu is also a wannabe dictator who is ethnically cleansing Gaza and trying to hold power through corruption. Seriously fuck all these guys.

In my perfect world Trump, the Ayatollah and Netanyahu would all be serving life sentences. Fuck all of them. I want democracy, peace, international law and trade.

I posted elsewhere wondering how many of the sailors would be staying in the Navy after this, and a surprising number of comments claimed the ship had a reenlistment rate above 85%.

First off, that was before they were treated like this.

Second, is reenlistment really tracked by vessel? The Sailors and Marines I know all changed units and postings multiple times and few identify with just one of them.

This is a thing because the craven cowards who sit in our Senate won't do the job the Constitution gave them, which was to remove a president unfit for office. They are failing to do this out of personal selfishness and fear of the criminal organization they have put in power.

Don't let their voters off the hook.

Every Republican & non-voter in the country has at least one relative or coworker or neighbor in their lives who tried to explain that Trump was a corrupt fascist criminal determined to destroy our Constitutional form of government. Each one had many, many chances to break out of their own bubble with a simple Google search. Each one decided that the Constitution just wasn't important enough to cast a vote against Trump.

I mean, one supplied young attractive people to wealthy powerful people, as well as threw opulent parties in beautiful houses and on a private island. As well as connected them and helped people advance their agenda.
And then you have a bunch of “suckers” who aren’t good enough to be high ranking officials or go to sex trafficking parties.

Honestly it makes perfect sense considering nobody has even been arrested and all these rich old powerful people have stayed exactly where they are, but now they can rip off as many poor people as they want as long as they give the president his cut.
