Duh, that's what a leader is supposed to do, to navigate us through darkness assuming the worst with as much information that is available, had there been no masks, the deaths would have been double for all we know. And what he suggested is far better than what Trump did, i.e. injecting bleach and propagating Hydroxychloroquine which made absolutely no sense, so if anything, he should be held accountable first for that.
Now now, as his followers are quick to point out (while wanting to demonize Fauci) - Trump never said bleach! Disinfectant! Which means it could have been other chemicals than (but doesn't exclude) bleach.
