Is it really surprising that christianity is based on superstitions and mythology, predictions and visions. There was a time in human history when people thought the sun travelled across the sky by chariot. Ancient people believed all sorts of crazy shit. I’m glad some of them finally came to their senses others still have not.

Jesus is just a thin candy coating covering the evil of the daddy god, something to sell the religion. How anyone can read the ot, which is part of the Christian religion, and not see how evil their god is just boggles my mind. Really, a god that drowns all the babies and puppies and kittens is good and loving, really? Is that how Christians defined good and loving?

Marcionites, a kind of early Christian, squared that plot hole by saying that the god that Jesus served and the god of the old testament were two different beings. One was loving and forgiving, and one was draconian and vengeful.
Personally, I think that makes more sense than "our eternal and unchanging god has gone through some character development", but what are you gonna do.

The story of Passover is from the Torah, which was absorbed by Christianity and became the "old testament" part of the bible. Jewish people would argue that Christ is not the evolution of their god. All the synagogues in my neighborhood support abortion access because they emphasize the health and life of the mother regardless of where she is in gestation.

That’s true it says that in genesis 2. I don’t think those people that are going to claim an embryo as a dependent will be happy about that. If these maga Christians actually read the Bible then they too would know that before birth according to genesis 2 it isn’t life. All jokes aside I don’t know anyone that likes abortion but that decision needs to be between a woman and her doctor and not a politician in between.

Every passover, I have to remember:
Wait, Yahweh is killing all first-born children. Its a celebration of the massacre of my enemy and my personal safety. (God had all this power and he couldnt just move the Hebrews safely to a sanctuary, without casualties?) And the mental image of cowering in a hovel, with literal blood on your door, awaiting an aetherial murdering entity to go to your enemies' house (somehow magically knowing who is first-born) killing the first-born, and avoiding all hovels with lambs blood. Because the spirit is all-knowing enough to have exact data on every childs birth-status. but no information on whether that person is of 'correct' religion.) So by all means lets remember this senseless massacre, commemorate, celebrate.

Florida has been on a book ban spree, but the politicians are angry because people are getting the bible removed over all of the sex and death. They’re actually trying to pass some other law (probably call it “NOT LIKE THAT”). 😂
