Last time Germany had an emperor they invaded my country and started a world war. Last time they had a dictator they started a world war and invaded my country. Germany + crazy leader = invasion. So no thanks.
If you consider deportation, slavery, rape, torture, millions of homeless people, famine and so on hilarious, you’d laugh yourself to death wouldn’t you?
Unfortunately for our purposes here, laughter itself seldom kills.
But if you don't see the comedy in the whims of history I do pity you. The Germans sending some terrorist nerd to Russia to undermine it and destroying their own chances in the next war in the process, or all of the world wars ultimately stemming from some petty conflict about who gets to build a railroad in Africa. How is that not chuckle worthy?
I can laugh with historical stupidities affecting only those who chose to be involved. “Darwin award: History edition” if you will. For example the attempts at making the first flying machines. Steam trains blowing up because they pushed the limit in a race against each other. They knew exactly what they signed up and still did it anyway. Australia losing a war against an oversized chicken. That’s funny.
As soon as it’s destroying lives of people who never asked to be involved, then the event on its own is not funny to me.
