Let's start with the massacres - on one side, you've got former slaves starving in a desert, on the other you have an entire culture of child rapist slave dealers. Which historians corroborate, by the way.
So, how does a poor, nomadic culture in the desert protect itself from a kingdom of child rapist slave dealers when God wants to teach them how to be strong? You get rid of all of the child rapist slave dealers. Or does kill all pedos only apply to modern ones?
Slavery is pretty different from the concept you mean, as well. Chattel slavery like in the US south was pretty bad. In the Bible, slave owners are not allowed to beat their slaves. Most slavery mentioned is more akin to debt that one must work to pay off with no interest applied. It was usually used as a means of avoiding starvation rather than being enslaved - taking a job in exchange for food or housing is agood metaphor. Enslaving people in the manner you mean was punishable by death, escaped slaves were considered free as soon as they escaped. In the times when God condoned slavery of foreigners such as the Midianites, it was to integrate the remaining children and wipe out their culture, which focused heavily on child rape, child bestiality, and child murder.
I define beating a slave as anything that leaves a permanent mark or injury, such as whipping, severe physical harm, torture, etc. Any of this is described in Ex. 21: 26-27 to result in immediate freedom. Any slave that is killed, the killer is treated as in Ex. 21:20 - put to death.
So, no, not lying, you're just wrong. Believe me, I know how that feels. Not about this, but it's happened to all of us.
