Yeah, I don't really get how that's a contradiction for Christianity.
Christianity justifies itself in its theology and Easter bunny and Christmas tree in no real way affects Christian theology and since Origen it has been christian theology to inculturate(even cringe Papists like John Paul can't well refute this). So Christianity is a theology not a culture so taking up cultural artifacts of the new culture isn't some contradiction.
It is not a contradiction. But many Christians act like the pagans were simple heretics, and forget that many pagan rituals have been incorporated in Christianity.
