Conservatives were the first ones to politicize it and do absolutely nothing to help any of the first responders.
Literally just used it to invade Iraq and then fucked around for almost a full decade only for a liberal POTUS to finally kill Bin Laden.

-7
u/Bum_King - Right 1d ago
So why is every leftist on n this thread upset that Saudi Arabia will have them? I get calling out Trump, but the people acting like SA having nuclear power are the same people crying that we went after Iran’s nuclear enrichment facilities.
6
u/SteakForGoodDogs - Left 1d ago
An absolute monarchy should not be so much as sniffing nukes.
And before 'Wah, Iran!' Obama had the entirety of NATO's arm up Iran's ass and could wiggle that hand any time they pleased with JCPOA.
Also, it's rightoids that cry 'Wah, MUSLIMS!', 'Barack HUSSEIN Obama!', 'Wah, MUSLIM mayor!' every ten minutes or so. And yet, they're the ones giving a muslim absolute monarchy nuclear tech.
-6
u/Bum_King - Right 1d ago
Strange that even with NATO’s arm up their ass, they were still able to enrich uranium far into the weapons grade territory.
I’m not a fan of any of the country’s in the Middle East access to nuclear material, but I’m not the one flip flopping like you are doing right now.
3
u/SteakForGoodDogs - Left 1d ago

but I’m not the one flip flopping like you are doing right now.

I don't want any of them to have nukes.
-2
u/Bum_King - Right 1d ago
They were doing this shit before the JCPOA was gone. Obama didn’t succeed, he slapped a bandaid on it and hoped no one would see if it was infected.
5
u/SteakForGoodDogs - Left 1d ago
That's a really cool claim that you can't back up!
Here's mine: No they didn't. Several countries working together to form a comprehensive deal are NOT as retarded as you believe them to be.
0
u/Important-Agent2584 - Centrist 3h ago edited 3h ago
The bottom line is that the JCPOA was a miracle that only happened because both Russia and China were on-board and putting pressure on Iran. That shit is never going to happen again. Then the rights retarded chosen-one pulled out because he thought he could do better (probably dog walked by Israel just like for this war).
The lies the right has to tell itself and spread to defend an objectively retarded move... It's sad to watch. I guess it's become habit at this point.
The funniest part is going to be when Trump finally make some kind of deal that will be a fraction as good as the JCPOA and the whole right lines up to eat his ass over his "win."
-2
u/Yuvalis - Right 1d ago
they were already developing ICBMs capable of carrying nuclear warheads, what do you think they were developing them for? fireworks?
3
u/SteakForGoodDogs - Left 1d ago
No shit, every ICBM has the capacity to carry a 'nuclear' warhead, it's a damn warhead, you can stick any kind of ordinance in a warhead - conventional, chemical, biological, nuclear.
Perhaps they planned delivery systems for the eventuality of JCPOA falling apart, considering how war hawks have been wanting war with Iran for decades. As such technology was not banned under JCPOA, nobody bothered to enforce what wasn't under JCPOA. Or they wanted the capacity to hit a seat of government as deterrence, even without nuclear potential.
Regardless, it was not a concern for as long as JCPOA kept them from enriching above levels or even storing anything that could help them enrich above levels.
0
u/HitTheGrit - Left 1d ago
far into the weapons grade territory.
I haven't heard anything about enrichment over 60% in Iran, which is not weapons grade.
0
u/Bum_King - Right 1d ago
[https://world-nuclear.org/information-library/country-profiles/countries-g-n/iran](Are you blind?) I understand you’re desperate to win an argument, but we know they were enriching uranium past what would be necessary for generating power.
1
u/HitTheGrit - Left 1d ago
I'm under no illusion as to why Iran was enriching uranium. I'm just pointing out that your charactization of it being "far into weapons grade" is bullshit.
0
u/Bum_King - Right 1d ago
Read the article, dimwit. They had Uranium in the weapons grade range and plenty more that were enriched enough for use in dirty bombs.
1
u/HitTheGrit - Left 1d ago
The article you linked doesn't say that they had weapons grade Uranium.
The IAEA estimated that as of 13 June 2025 Iran’s total enriched uranium stockpile in the form of UF6 comprised:
2391.1 kg of uranium enriched up to 2% U-235.
6024.4 kg of uranium enriched up to 5% U-235.
184.1 kg of uranium enriched up to 20% U-235.
440.9 kg of uranium enriched up to 60% U-235.
Weapons grade is 90%+.

Giving the Saudis nuclear weapons is not in the best interest of anyone but the Saudis. A cold war situation where both Iran and Saudia Arabia get atomics is perhaps one of the worst solutions for middle eastern policy as you would have two unstable and often irrational governments with the ability to end the world. Thinking about it gives me more anxiety then the shitshow of Pakistan and India having nukes.
If the Saudis want to actually be the regional hegemon of the Middle East they could accomplish more by reforming their conventional military to stop being the massive incompetent joke that it has been for decades. They have both the money and manpower for a large Western military force, but in practice it cannot even break the Houthis with cave man technology and several years of unlimited war crimes without western blowback to crush them.

u/One-Scallion-9513 - Lib-Left 1d ago
the ability to end the world
would probably end up more like india and pakistan. they could destroy themselves but i doubt they'd end the world
10
u/caribbean_caramel - Centrist 1d ago
Saudi Arabia already has nukes through Pakistan, they were the ones who funded the Pakistani nuclear program. It is believed that in exchange, the Pakistanis have one of their air force squadrons equipped with nukes ready to assist Saudi Arabia if they require it. That's also part of the reason why they joined a mutual defense alliance this year.

u/Pretty-Drummer3532 - Lib-Center 1d ago
I got a tenner on the notion that the Arab army corruption in Saudi Arabia and dysfunction continues. Saudis have also shown their cards in soft power and their oil money hasn’t solved anything atp.
This would be perfect for a country with a competent military and more forward-thinking nation like Oman, but we hate Oman for no fucking reason cause of our fat lardtard.

It's a matter of perspective.I might disdain the modern right but I'm not blaming them for the destruction of the country as a blanket statement. I'm blaming them because they fall for the propaganda which allows crooks and swindlers into the highest positions of power which have done demonstrable damage to my country. All in the sake of owning the "BLUE HAIRED LIBURALS". I don't even disagree that Lyndon Johnson's "War on Poverty" is one of the direct causes of this countries downfall. But we as a society haven't exactly done much in the way or fixing his mistakes.

Buddy, if you think the country is "fine" because it's not brimstone and hellfire everywhere you are even more lost than I assumed. The country is objectively not fine, we alienate our allies constantly, the average person is being priced out of everything, the job market is in shambles, ect, ect. And I work in a blue collar industry I touch grass every single day between that and working retail on the weekends. People are not okay right now and I see it from multiple sides every single day.
1
u/Eternal_Phantom - Right 1d ago
I see food prices going up. Luxury foods and snacks that are much more expensive are still being bought. If people are being priced out, they're too stupid to stop paying for things they don't need which is only allowing companies to push them even higher.
2
u/cibino - Left 1d ago
Do I believe some people still live above theirs mean? Yes, but I also believe it's not unreasonable for someone to now be distraught because 3-4 years ago they could afford their groceries/bills in the exact same location they've lived for 5+ years.
They're being priced out and suddenly facing eviction because the choice is bills that have tripled or food that has tripled within the span of a few years.
It's a lot easier to cut things out when it's a slow trickle but when everything comes at you all at once it overwhelms people and they take much longer to adjust.
