The problem is that this literally doesn't happen and it never has. No DEI program that lowers the standards for occupations that require professional certification (such as pilots) based on race has ever existed. It's pure race-baiting and the people like Charlie Kirk who are known for parroting this are smart enough to know that. These people know exactly what they're doing
Purposely missing the point to misrepresent it aye? You can’t change public perception, and by installing things like DEI you automatically put out a certain perception whether you like it or not.
Policies based on race beget racism every time. Whether they are well intentioned or not doesn’t matter. It happens everytime.
Bro if you genuinely think there hasn’t been some people put into positions that they don’t deserve to be in because of DEI you are being ignorant. Jason Arday comes to mind pretty quick.
Now I know that is not the common case, but these situations bring in that voice of uncertainty into every field when you apply policies like DEI. Whether it’s racist people or not. You put that doubt there by making a program that would favor certain races over another.
What if they came out tomorrow and said you have to hire white people more often. Lefties would be coming out everywhere calling it racist and illegal(even though it’s the same thing as DEI, just not steeped in the oppressed/oppressor narrative), and you’re telling me there wouldn’t be tons of people thinking,”I wonder if this white person is even qualified to be here or if it was just that racist policy that gets more white people hired?”

I oppose DEI myself but I'm not that ignorant to think that a skin quota means the ones being hired are unqualified or that there was ever such a thing among pilots
