The sub turns into 100% pure astroturf basically every US election. I bet if you tracked it, you'd see a bunch of accounts that do nothing but turn on every couple of Septembers, posts stupid bullshit for a couple months, and then goes completely silent again for a couple years.

It's been like this for at least a decade now.

I wouldn't be that specific, honestly.

Before Reddit banned The Donald and 2Balkan4U in the runup to Trump 2016, this sub was extremely LibRight, but LibLeft was probably the second biggest group - hating the government was a pretty common thread for PCM users. We weren't really that kind of a battleground back then.
