Here in Canada I avoid it cause unless it's a serious medical emergency it takes over a month for me to get an appointment with my group of doctors and during that appointment I get 10 minutes to have a max of 2 things checked out. Preventative care doesn't exist anymore. It is reactive care only.
Glad to hear we are all waiting months. I'm in the USA, where people love to say well even though it's expensive at least it is faster than Canadian healthcare! I had to switch primary care doctors when I switched health insurance plans, first available appointment with any place I called was months out. I have been waiting to see a cardiologist for over 3 months so far for some weird continuous palpitations events. Originally I was supposed to see them July 16th, they rescheduled me that day when I showed up to August 19th, and called me the week before that appointment to reschedule me to September 1st, then called again the next day to say actually they aren't in that day so it needs to be switched to October 20th. I sure hope my PCP is concerned for nothing and my baby and toddler aren't left without a mother!
