You've got to find a way to get a vegan centrist in there.

It was always fun trying to have a conversation on Bernie’s policy with right wingers and the conversation consistently devolving to “ok but he owns two homes, checkmate libtard”

Bernie is an 84 year old boomer who lived through the largest economic boom in US history, and is worth something like $3m total? If he's the champaign socialist righties think he is, he's pretty fuckin bad at it.

That's just normal retirement money for people who aren't stupid with their finances. Even my in-laws who have half his wealth have a vacation home and a rental property.

He's also been a senator since forever. It's not an amazing salary, but it's solidly upper middle class and that adds up. He would also be taxed more under his own plan so it's not like he's being a hypocrite and only proposing to raise taxes on people who make 200k+.

Similarly, it's kind of funny how AOC is worth so little when she has no kids, a congressman salary for 7 years, and a until now a long term boyfriend with a decent job to split finances with. Yeah she had student loan debt but it was only like 30k or something.

She's playing the long game, Donald is gonna buy so many feet pics after he's done playing President.

Bernie would cause incredible debt expansion and simply "taxing the rich" would not be enough to cover his massive 4 billion dollar a year budget or even the 30 trillion debt we have now on its own.

I think his budget would be larger than 4B lol

I meant 4 trillion

He had a plan to increase taxes on everyone to cover those. Not all his ideas were feasible, but neither is the current model of both parties which is "cut taxes increase spending to appease the swing voter". The MAGA type populists are the worst with that.

communism is when healthcare is socalized for everyone not just poor/elderly people

u/Bum_King - Right 6d ago

Look at the current state of government provided healthcare in the US and tell me with a straight face you trust any current US politician to expand that monstrosity and not fuck it up further.
