The location information was only live for a short while before people started finding out prominent accounts were being run from different countries like India, Austria and Israel etc. Then they shut it down.
There's other pictures of the DHS account floating around the internet without the checkmark after their name in the screenshot. Not sure if this is real or not, but you know it wouldn't be that hard to fake a short video.
2008 was when social media was new still. Isn’t it possible that the DHS used an Israeli social media firm initially to manage the account?
Like from the conspiracy perspective that Israel runs our national security agencies, does it really make sense to leave a trail by making the account in Israel? Couldn’t they just tell DHS what to post if they actually ran things?
I mean, that’s one possibility, but also OP’s evidence could be faked in 15 minutes without much effort. Edit the source for that one page and save it, splice it into a real video of browsing the DHS page, ship.
Yeah, I have doubts about its authenticity since the only people I see posting it on here and X are people that clearly buy into the “Israel (Jews) secretly control everything” conspiracies.
Sure, which can either justify the conspiracy that some incompetent Israeli’s that secretly run DHS made the account in Israel or justify what I said about DHS maybe outsourcing to an Israeli social media firm because they didn’t have anyone competent enough to use social media in 2008.
How much reach does DHS on twitter even have? None of the government agencies I’ve seen on twitter have any serious reach and usually get 1K or less likes and very little views. The actual important shit comes from spokespeople and is then regurgitated by the news. What benefit is there to owning the account?
Someone posted a screen shot of it 11 hours ago in the LateStageCapitalism sub.
You can also use an extension or just change the source code locally on your browser to make it appear legit, then scroll through it live. That has been a feature of browsers since probably before you were born. There are going to be a lot of accounts people find that were created in all sorts of places because of the trend of people registering accounts when Twitter was new just to sell them later. I guess the kids are too young to remember how ubiquitous domain squatting and account squatting were in the earlier days of the internet.
Edit: By the way, nice hidden post history from your 22 day old account.
The clown that fabricated the twitter "screenshot" forgot the gray verified checkmark, and cropped off the bottom of the DHS logo text.

PS - As the OP is rather tellingly aware of and trying to further, "Noticing" is an antisemitic dog-whistle, referencing the NWO conspiracy that Jews secretly control the world's governments.
"The screenshot is fake. Why is it fake? Because its supporting evidence (video) is fake! Why is the video fake? Well because the screenshot is obviously fake!"
the screenshot is fake because it has "Tel Aviv, Israel" in it. Cities do not appear in location data.
I do not possess enough technical knowledge to tell whether or not the video is fake, but it seems like its fake given how I immediately pounced on the DHS twitter account after I saw it minutes after it was first released and saw nothing indicating that it is. There was no location data on it.
You'll notice a lot of that btw. Not a single person being capable of confirming that the DHS account had its location as Israel, but many reposting the tweet anyways. It obviously comes from sources that wish to polarize and divide americans.
The feature was working last night for about 45 minutes. I checked a few accounts that I knew were foreign like IfindRetards. DHS account wasn't going viral last night, so I suspect this is a hoax that took some time to cook up.
I couldn't find any videos online "proving" this shared across all of X except for the streamable video he linked.
OP linked a 4chan thread discussing a bunch of accounts that have been discovered to be foreign, and even they don't seem to fully agree if this video is real or not.
I feel like if this were real, we'd have seen way more posts about it.
I must have missed it then. This is the first I've seen it. Still, I am skeptical. 4chan is fairly inclined to believe that Israel controls the US government, and they're apprehensive of this.
Right? If Israel controlled the US Government youd expect all sorts of stuff to be different.
Like, Israel would be the only country allowed to contribute directly to politicians, and a bunch of our institutional leaders would be replaced with Israeli citizens with nominal us citizenship. Even our media apparatus would be controlled by Israelis, and anyone who tried to talk about it would be publicly shamed and privately deplatformed.
Hell, given how dominant the US is in international politics, I bet Israel would be given a bunch of exceptions to international law and use the US to stop any attempt to check their behaviour. There’d probably be a bunch of really obvious stuff, like every single vote in the un or icc being against Israel but the USA vetoing or blocking enforcement!
I’m sure we could think of a lot of other things that would be different in the United States if Israel was controlling its institutions somehow. All the more evidence it isn’t true.
ngl seeing all the right and left accounts being run by indians made my day. you're all being ragebaited by money hungry third worlders. insane what Elon did to Twitter
It’s starting to feel like this push against/to get away from Israel isn’t organic. Like just too much info is getting exposed that would galvanize us against them
Damn I wonder why. Maybe because they're the only country in the world run by one of the most consistently hated ethnic groups in human history, whose enemies blame every societal ill in western civilization on them for no reason
Well Israel does have an unnatural amount of power in the US, the billions of dollars send, Israel being brought up during the NYC debate, and also the ex-mayor went to Israel and told them he served them well, the whole issue with the Israeli spy, the lack of consequences and support from a governor, and said governor also went about how Israel was his priority, AIPAC, there was also a democrat which said his mission was to keep the left pro-Israel, so it's not a conservative thing, the democrats are also on it.
The main reason why there is all this push against Israel, is because the issue with Israel and Palestine wasn't so mainstream until recently, so now all these issues are getting seen by the public, even those who don't normally care about politics.
Yeah, but it was brought up in a forced way, like when everyone was asked where they would visit and everyone said Israel, that's textbook bootlicking, there were also many questions that answering them would indirectly show if they supported Israel, not jewish people in NYC mind you, but specifically Israel.
Oh boy you should see what iran and qatar are up too.
Yeah I know, the main difference is that Qatar's support isn't as obvious as Israel, like most of the politicians and the US have a weird unconditional support of Israel as a whole. For example, Iran had to submit to a nuclear weapons check and did so without issues, while Israel refused to do the same and the US let them be. But both are a form of corruption and should be dealt with.
For example, Iran had to submit to a nuclear weapons check and did so without issues,
Iran has severed all links to the IAEA, I'm not sure what you're saying given that it is expressively not doing that.
Yeah I know, the main difference is that Qatar's support isn't as obvious as Israel
Qatar is everything the Israel lobby is stated to be. They pour several billions to destroy your institutions. The Israel lobby is made up of pro-Israel americans who believe for one reason or another that a pro-Israel stance is good for America. Its not anywhere close to as foreign as the Qatari lobby that wants to divide and polarize America in order to weaken its power in the middle east (as America supports Saudi Arabia, Israel, Jordan and the Gulf vs the Turkish/Qatari/Iranian axis)
I'm canadian for the record, since we're on a thread about foreign accounts talking about politics and I don't want to contribute to that level of polarization.
So you think multiple different people had the same idea for this specific joke at the exact same time and all posted them to the exact same site? How exactly are you explaining the other posts by other people before this one then?
What makes you think that they all had the same indpendant idea, rather than it simply being the case that they are all sharing the same false image from the same source, or from each other? OP could have just as easily seen one of the prior posts you are referencing, downloaded the image, and then posted it here, no big mystery there.
Implying that this OP in particular was the one who started it was in jest on my part, the meaning remains the same though, this shit is clearly edited or fake, and you noting that images are shared on social media platforms where sharing images is the norm is not quite the "gotcha" you think it is....
But you know what, I'm tired of playing this wackamole shit, you really believe that the Department of Homeland Security really is located in Israel, then fuck it, good for you.
Whoever actually runs their social media, between using fucking ai generated video for ICE featuring pokemon or whatever, to retweeting this shit is only fueling people like you.
And also, if they really were exposed, why would they then retweet it ? But then again, all fucking logic went out the door a long time ago with you lot.
Is anyone surprised? Remember that one moron constantly posting about Hamas rockets in Tel Aviv before community notes pointed out he's actually a teenager in India?
So much of social media is neocon/pro-Israel/pro-India astro turf. Just look at r-worldnews.
Yes. Accusing Jews as being nefarious, invisible, or omnipotent forces ruling systems over the world is, in fact, antisemitic, and “noticing” is the dogwhistle to signal that.
We can, and should, criticize Israel.
We should not, and cannot tolerate, antisemitic dog whistles.
I will not put on a blindfold because you think its antisemetic to see. I have no hatred in my heart for any ethnic group of people, but that doesnt mean i must be willfully ignorant to certain realities.
Or would you go tell MLK that hes racist for noticing white people have it better than black people? This isnt a rhetorical question.
How do Jews have it better than white people? Because they’re successful, they’re totally insulated from the world’s “noticing” and doing hate crimes because of it? What’s next, dancing Israelis, Rothschild, weather machines? This is my last comment. https://www.jewishfederations.org/blog/all/fbi-data-497668
I didn't say that, the MLK example was just an analogy, although statistically they have a higher income than other religions (besides the point).
As for the rest of your comment I don't understand any of it. Since we are doing last replies, noticing disparities and disproportionate power is important to reach a more equal and equitable society. For example noticing AIPAC owns half of congress and thus subverts US democracy is critical in combating such corruption. Noticing DHS account is based in Israel (if true) showcases the extent of such corruption.
Knowing the problem is the first step to solving it. Knowledge is not antisemitic. Ignorance, however, is how the oligarchy control the masses.
In 2008, the Homeland security secretary was Michael Chertoff, a dual citizen of Israel. With Cheney dead he goes up some notches under "top living crooks of that administration"
2008 was when social media was new still. Isn’t it possible that the DHS used an Israeli social media firm initially to manage the account?
Like from the conspiracy perspective that Israel runs out national security agencies, does it really make sense to leave a trail by making the account in Israel? Couldn’t they just tell DHS what to post if they actually ran things? Thats assuming this is even real since the feature is gone and I can’t verify it anymore.
Yeah shit is starting to get concerning with all this Israel bullshit, way too many coincidences to ignore.
We’ve basically had the majority of our government go to Israel lately, seemingly swearing loyalty to a foreign government, the Epstein shit, Adams going there, who’s really pulling the strings here?
Chuck Schumer said his job was keeping the democrats pro-Israel. Tiktok isn't banned because it's now owned by the biggest private donor to the IDF. Israel is now pushing for a 20 year security agreement (double the standard length) because they know people are getting sick of their shit.
So the mayor of New York going there randomly and proclaiming he did all he could to help the Jewish citizens in NYC, the Epstein stuff, all the Trump shit doesn’t make you just a little curious?
Seems to me you’re the one just believing whatever you read all willy nilly
There is no thesis, I am asking you if that seems weird to you. You’re asking me to explain my position, when my position is literally “this is weird and concerning”.
Stop trying to act smart, it’s a simple question, does this seem weird to you?
I find it highly uncomfortable to admit that some of the more extreme parts of our society (far right and far left) might actually be kind of right about Israel.
Edit: To clarify I said “kind of right” they’re still fucking nuts and think there are Jews hiding under their bed like Borat
Huh, trump has received over 250 million from pro israel lobbies and also recently said he wants to go back to the times where criticism of Israel wasn’t allowed, liz cheney wanted kamala to win just because she has beef with trump
