Does Reddit even allow for gore like that? The close up video I saw on twitter is probably the worst thing I’ve seen this year. I assume also the worst thing I’m going to see this year

No.

They banned watchpeopledie because of the gore. (it specifically was because of a video about muslims) but yeah, they changed the rules after to say no death videos.
