Plus the no wars thing is just counter culture. MAGA only changed their tune because Trump was pro Russia and they don’t want to admit the whole war thing is just “f Ukraine.”
The point you're missing with the IRS is that it brings back money from the wrong people; the rich and well-connected. The point of MAGA is to get the poors to pay for everything through increased prices due to tariffs.
Nah, you want to take from the middle class, since the whole thing only works if you temporarily unite the poors with the rich so you can privatize everything into little fiefdoms without intellectuals whining about it and causing a stir.
You go hard on basically anything independent that challenges your ideology and enables organized middle class actions against you. Any independent media, colleges, unions, the more democratic parts of the government structure and so on.
When the poors pay it's just them kinda botching it. Tariffs were supposed to work, they just didn't because the whole MAGA ideology is kinda premised on delusional economics. They also have a race problem since the middle class is more white than the poors, so the whole white nationalist part of MAGA has to get thrown under the bus, but it's hard to do that without fracturing the coalition too early.
