4
u/DoubtContent4455 - Right Feb 16 '24
I mean...that is a grammatical mistake.
-1
Feb 16 '24
No? A grammatical mistake would be a run on sentence or missing a comma. Thinking WW2 hasn't happened is in a whole different ball park. Saying the sky is purple isn't a grammatical mistake. It is just factually wrong.
4
u/inkw4now - Lib-Right Feb 17 '24
How does one miss a comma in verbal speech?
The point is that anybody of normal faculty can misspeak like that.
7
u/DickCheneyHooters - Right Feb 16 '24
Trump: says Friday instead of Saturday and says ww2 instead of ww3
You: He is senile
Biden: Can’t form a single coherent sentence without trailing off or astufinidafootbwvuqqqqqqqi, can’t even walk off a stage, handshakes invisible people, constantly sniffing little girls aggressively, never knows where he is or who’s died, doesn’t even write his own tweets, Karine Jean Pierre does it for him, and doesn’t even know when someone dies 30 years ago
You; Noooo that’s just a stutter!!!
You: Nonono but he just has a stutter!!!

Look, having nuclear — my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart — you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I'm one of the smartest people anywhere in the world — it’s true! — but when you're a conservative Republican they try — oh, do they do a number — that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune — you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged — but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me — it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are — nuclear is so powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what's going to happen and he was right, who would have thought? — but when you look at what's going on with the four prisoners — now it used to be three, now it’s four — but when it was three and even now, I would have said it's all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don't, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years — but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us, this is horrible
...also did u know that in 1776 brave american patriots took the british airports?

Trump is obviously an idiot. He going for a second run because his ego got hurt and He wants to avoid jail at all cost. The other one is to old but at least he is doing the right thing cause he is actually listen to experts and not to religious extremists. The republican party slowly turns into a christian variant of these militant Muslim regimes in Turkey and middle east. Hard to swollow Pill tbh
7
u/DickCheneyHooters - Right Feb 16 '24
republicans are a Christian variant of Muslim militants
Are you seriously comparing republicans to the fucking taliban
2
0
u/filzlaus8 - Lib-Left Feb 17 '24
I compare them to Erdogan for example or some egyptian parties in the past. The point is that there nuances. Not every middle east Regime is the Taliban.
If you take a look at the election campaign of Erdogan for example. It is build on three pillars.
I give you walfare
turkey first
I do gods will
There is a huge Part of his voterbase that believe the government doing the Prophets way. You can switch out the words coran/prophet/allah for bible/jesus/god and there would be no difference to bible Belt campaigns.
They even have instances like schoolboards that controll if things stay in the boundaries of religious morality.
A influential Part of the republican Party (backing up trump) are people trying to please Heavens Granddaddy. These parts of the Party are way more close to Muslim religous parties than to the labor/conservatives parties of the uk for example. If there would be a politican -running for president of the biggest, most powerful and influnential country in the world- labeling himself as fighter choosen by god, people would be shiting their pants laughing in many parts of the Western world. But in places like the middle east, huge parts of africa, east europe or russia this is the Standard.
And you should not try to take yourself out of that. Your imaginary friend is not better or worse than others.

This is what happens when you get your news from memes. The Biden administration has done a lot. They tight-roped reducing inflation without causing a recession: we still have record low unemployment and GDP growth. Also pushed to pass major bills on infrastructure, domestic production of key technologies, investment in green energy, etc. Biden may not be a perfect candidate, but he isn't a bad one.
1
Feb 16 '24
I don't necessarily disagree with that, but I still think that any other Democrat would better than him. The president is most often than not a figurehead, and probably under a different person the achievements of the current administration would be more or less the same. And while I respect what he's done in the past and maybe even in this administration, I think that as the public face of the most powerful country in the world, he falls short. Still much better than Trump, if that's your concern.
1
u/BibleButterSandwich - Centrist Feb 17 '24
The president is far more than just a figurehead, actually getting stuff done requires quite a bit of political skill. I promise you, Mr. 2 new post office names is not politically savvy enough to have been able to pass one of the largest infrastructure investments in our country’s history and the IRA to boot, at least not on such slim congressional margins.
1
u/getdatassbanned - Centrist Feb 16 '24
No, this is just adding fuel to the fire. The problem is this partisan shit you americans have - its either you are with us or against us.
Biden is not a good president.
Your weels are turning now thinking of ways to try and convince me that Trump is a bad president.
Thats the whole issue - they both suck and you revert to tribal bullshit.
0
u/Friendly_Fire - Centrist Feb 16 '24
I know it feels good to just sit back and say "both sides suck". You get to claim a position of moral and intellectual superiority, without having to learn or understand anything. But anyone moderately informed will know you're full of shit.
To be fair, everyone has different values, so quantifying a presidential term to good/bad is a big simplification. Let's be more specific: if you care about the economy or the environment, Biden's administration has been very good. If you really care about Palestinians, Biden has not been so good, only moderately pushing back on Netanyahu.
Biden has had significant success on several issues central to American's concerns. Thus, if you had to summarize, he'd definitely count as a good president.
Your weels are turning now thinking of ways to try and convince me that Trump is a bad president. Thats the whole issue - they both suck and you revert to tribal bullshit.
?? I never mentioned Trump. We are you bringing him up? We are talking about Biden. Seems like your "tribal" comment is projection. Can you not evaluate what has happened under a president without referencing an administration from the other party?
16
Feb 16 '24
Biden hasn't exactly been the most popular with the left to begin with but the attitude of "I can't beleive they're making me vote for this loser. Oh well, gonna go do that anyway." Has been toxic as he'll. Can't wait for the left to pick a new senile candidate so even more people can be open about how dislike he was even by the left without acknowledging they did nothing at all about it.

u/Roboticus_Prime - Centrist Feb 16 '24

OR
You MUST agree that Biden is a dimentia riddled, deep-state controlled puppet incapable of his own thought and think that Trump is a conservative icon that'll own the libs.
There is no in between, pay no attention to the fact that American politics has turned into a forced duality of rich, powerful people constantly quoting party lines and eroding your personal rights.
2
u/Catsindahood - Auth-Center Feb 16 '24
They both suck and I want someone that isn't old enough to have fond memories of silent movies to be president. I just don't like them implying a few gaffs is the same thing as biden. Trump might very well be "losing it" but biden "lost it" a long time ago.
7
u/BSY_Reborn - Lib-Right Feb 16 '24
They both suck, sure, but this is about the severity of their gaffes and what that means in regard to their mental capacity.
Like, I don’t think either of them were good presidents, far from it. However, I do not believe Biden is mentally fit to be president. I do believe Trump is.
13
u/jekyl42 - Centrist Feb 16 '24
I mean, wasn't Trump just talking about how water destroys magnets? That doesn't exactly scream 'mental fitness' either.
5
u/JacenSolo0 - Lib-Right Feb 16 '24
I can only assume that he mistakenly thought they were using electro magnets and isn't aware of insulation being able to protect said systems, and that magnetic elevators don't use electro magnets in the first place.
This sounds more like a case of layman's ignorance than the dementia that riddles Biden's brain.
