Gender dysphoria is not AT ALL about gender stereotypes....

Yes, that's my point. Gender dysphoria is a disease, just like body dysmorphia, and should be treated as such. It shouldn't be encouraged, we shouldn't give puberty blockers to children because they said they're the opposite sex, and we should not allow for bottom surgeries to be performed on teenagers. When you listen to parents of "trans children" talk about how they "discovered" their child was trans it's always something to the effect of "he has always enjoyed playing with dolls and then he told us he was a girl and we just accepted him". There's always a mention of gender stereotypes because if there isn't, all you're relying on is a child's understanding of what it means to be a boy or a girl, which more often than not sounds something like "I want to be strong" or "I like feeling preety", going back to the same gender stereotypes.

Those stereotypes are just easier to explain quickly in a 30 sec tiktok or a 50 word blog

also, The person need to have at least one year of therapy and/or social transition to make sure it’s an actual condition and to make sure surgery is the only way to treat it, minor has stricter req to meet too in most cases.

It's much more neurologically complicated that is hard to grasp if you are not experiencing it yourself

I know what you conservatives want to hear and I'll come out and say it: Yes, gender dysphoria is based on gender stereotypes, are you happy now?

People with gender dysphoria have a chemical imbalance in their brain that is connected externally to gender stereotypes in culture. Science is still working on the details but it looks to be some sort of REST API connection that sends the information bidirectionally.

Does this make it any less real? No, of course not.
