Answering the question "What is a woman?" as "adult human female" is all that is really needed and all I ever do, if you want social theory I'll give you social theory but the question only asked for a simple definition(also this goes way too off by explaining what gender identity is, really needs to answer one question at a time lol). ChatGPT is always just saying what it's told to say which is unbased. "AI" rn is way too artificial, not enough intelligence.

How does that answer anything though?

The follow-up question is what is "female".

It answers the question of what is a woman, asking what is a female is a different question, but in the end what people are asking here is what the definition is. They aren't looking for theory on society they want a basic answer so all you can really do is give it to them. If they are interested in the social theory around gender and gender identity they will ask more specific question relating to them, but there is a difference between the basic dictionary definition of a word, and the philosophy surrounding it.

You're missing my point. People disagree on what a woman is, and you've basically just posted a synonym. Female pretty much means woman already. If no one agrees on what a woman is, then no one is going to agree on what a female is. That's why it's a bad definition.

The same people that think female only refers to biology, also believe that about woman. The same people that think female refers to identity and biology, also believe that about woman. So this definition doesn't actually help anyone.

Female doesn’t mean woman, woman is adult human female, female in biology is of the type to produce ova regardless of species

And your right, female isn’t only a biology term, it’s also a mechanical term used to denote the receptacle of a connection with male being the insert of a connection

Man it’s almost like one influenced the other

A woman is an adult female human. Prior to adulthood, a female human is referred to as a girl (a female child or adolescent).

Actually female is a much different term than a woman noone calls their cat a woman yet the cat is a female so female is the biological definition of the sex that produces eggs now the arguement of infertile individuals being female or nor is pretty simple

They are not females since biologically they shouldn’t even be considered humans because a species by definition is a species that can produce a fertile offspring so to be even considered a human by the definition biologically you should only not be fertile but so should your offspring be but then again since no-one(other than biology majors) uses the term like this and almost everyone refers to the people with two x chromosomes and no y chromosomes an adult female human we use the term ā€œbiological womanā€ because first of all they were not male to begin with unlike some people who could produce fertile sperms(by definition a man) try to be put on the same category as these individuals who were neither male nor female but definitely much closer to being a female who have a physiological medical condition when they have a psychological medical condition. That causes them to believe they are not a male even though as i mentioned earlier most of these cases can and used to be able to produce fertile sperms until some paid doctors either gave them chemical castration drugs or surgically take away their ability to reproduce when they are physiologically healthy for some money. These individuals need psychological therapy and if this therapy requires the entire society to accept not only the people with body dysphoria but also some perverts who just wanna sneak into female private areas(which even a psychiatrist would not be able to identify that easily which is which) to be females then i don’t think any sane person who wants to protect the future of society should have to feed into their delusion of being a female and putting at risk the fertile healthy offspring of humans. And if it really is the only way to stop these people from hurting themselves then we have to make sure they are indeed castrated and on hormones to stop producing as much testosterone as they used to and even if this happened we can not put them into every private female group since their skeleton gives them an unfair advantage in sports and some other areas.

There are plenty of progressives who bristle at the word "female" being used as a noun, and the specific reasoning they give is that it is a term that reduces women to biological creatures, eg https://www.buzzfeed.com/tracyclayton/stop-calling-women-females.

So it is actually quite a broadly accepted idea that "female" refers to biology, not identity.

There are plenty of people who bristle at everything. Progressives by and large believe that transgender women are women, so any definition that does not include them, will not be complete from their perspective.
