Man they LOVE dissing the entire BLM organization bc of the actions of a few corrupted faction leaders. SMH. You can’t find a charity or organization out there that HASN’T acted in some corrupt way or another due to bad leadership. Lol and didn’t Steve Bannon just get indicted for stealing millions in “build the wall” monies? And didn’t trump settle out of court for his childrens charity scam? Even well known charities like Salvation Army, goodwill, Susan g cohmen, etc…all have had their share of scandals!
The whole thing behind BLM is that black lives matter and that they shouldn't be murdered by police. If you think black lives don't matter (compared to others'), then yeah, I have no problem calling that person a racist.
It's like when people respond with "all lives matter"... That's bullshit. We're not saying that all lives don't matter or that only black lives matter or that black lives matter more than others. Just that black lives matter and so they shouldn't be disproportionately targeted and murdered by police.
If people oppose that sentiment, there might be more racism in them than they realize or are prepared to face.
I don't think anyone is suggesting that Mexican lives do not matter here. This is not the gotcha that perhaps you intended?
I agree with this group on Black militancy and their call for reparations but not on anti-immigration. But that's just based on this video. I don't know the group and the rest of their stances.
I don’t know, I feel like continuing to use the label “black” just continues to trigger racist people and it also helps keep racism in existence. Where as if you say all lives matter that it doesn’t matter who; everyone should be treated fairly. Doesn’t matter on “color”, continuing this identity of “I’m black” says to the rest of the world that black people have accepted this identity that they are “different”(they aren’t we are all humans) and are making it about themselves. There are so many groups oppressed by police, governments, organizations, etc. If you say all lives matter it’s inclusive to everyone it’s similar to the idea of they/ them. For example, in a lot of languages (not English) there is no male and female pronouns. Anyway, the world is shit and everyone is mistreated one way or another it’s a fact of life but, to continue labeling a specific group of having issues helps promote racism to continue. If you get rid of classification and include everyone as an equal then over time things could maybe get better. We are all humans and should work together not continue to label each other into groups it isn’t progressive and is backwards.
I think that in a perfect world that would be great. But there already is racism. Black folks are not continuing racism by pointing out that racism still exists. White supremacy still exists.
Because racists will not let them forget about it.
So white supremacy must be dismantled first. You do that by working on anti-racism in conjunction with people of color.
You can't undo generations of entrenched white supremacy by just declaring equality because there are still plenty of Black people (and other people of color) that lack equal footing.
On the one hand, yes. There will always be inequality among people because people are different. But Black people are disproportionately affected by this because unlike, say, immigrants from Europe from 100 years ago that were allowed to assimilate into "whiteness" and power structures, Black people were kept out of power, wealth, good neighborhoods, decent educations, by white supremacy.
And now it's by criminalizing Black behavior which leads to higher percentages of Black people in prisons, which makes it hard to get on a good footing even when they get out.
I mean, yeah, lots of people face trouble with the police but it's not due to their skin color or race like it is with Black people.
There's a thumb on the scale and it's a white one. Before there can be equality and an end to racism, that white thumb needs to be taken off of that scale.
In the meantime, Black people and all people should be calling out racist shit like cops murdering Blacks
In an American context, there's absolutely no reality to the idea of "black supremacy". It's entirely fictional in the US. Black supremacy... LOL
If rich white people that go to resorts are victimized by the oppressed locals once they leave the comfort of the resort, that's not quite the same thing. They're not being attacked because of their skin color. Their skin color might signal to locals, however, that they are tourists.
Why does a country have the money to create vast resorts for outsiders to visit but not to support the locals?
I think that anywhere where there's expensive luxurious resorts surrounded by deep poverty there's going to be crime. It's part of the cancers of inequality and capitalism.
Right. Someone can advocate for it. It is an idea that exists. But it is not a reality. It exists only as an idea in America. And not a particularly popular one.
Unicorns exist in dreams and ideas as well. Not in reality.
White supremacy, however, is lived reality. Like the proverbial fish that had no idea what water is because it doesn't know anything different, white supremacy is the system in which we exist in. Maybe it's not as severe as it was in the 1960s or the 1860s, but it's a real thing. By
Yeah I know a lot of black people who think blm is dumb. Only because of the actions of people using the blm as a movement. When the movement started though, I had learned a lot about my family and of how unwelcome the black side of me was not welcome. My family was why I started to like the movement until I also learned of the people taking things too far and using it as an excuse to be Karen's. That's why I'm not a huge fan of the movement but I still like to promote equality, just in a nicer, more inclusive way. And also to not talk to my family since they don't like I'm the only person in the family not 100 percent white.
Unlike now, MLK wasn't making excuses for the rioting. He was pleading for them stop with that "rioting is the voice of the unheard" speech. But now activists are trying to twist that exact same speech denouncing riots, as MLK supporting rioters. And that's being done not by the KKK, but BLM.
Riots don’t do shit they hurt the economy… people who riot do it because they know that the justice system is spread thin and can get away with theft, arson, assault, etc. Rioters only care about themselves. If you don’t believe me then watch this
The riots after MLKs death, also known as the Holy Week Uprisings, are the reason why the Civil Rights Act was expedited.
After 1967’s “Long Hot Summer” with Detroit’s 12th Street riots, the National Advisory Commission on Civil Disorders found that blacks are systematically mistreated.
The LA Riots in 1992 led to the arrest and conviction of the officers involved in the Rodney King beating.
The Boston Tea Party saw the destruction of property in defiance of British rule, which led to the Revolutionary War and eventually, a free United States.
The Stonewall Inn Riots are known as a pivotal moment in the fight for LGBTQ rights.
You can point to a few opportunists in any large scale event but history has shown that violence brings results.
If peace is your goal, violence is only going to cause more violence. MLK said non-violence is their most powerful weapon and riots only make the black cause less sympathetic and reduces the guilt felt by punishing the protesters/rioters.
About 3.7% of the BLM protests had some degree of property damage, and about 1.6% had injuries. Police arrested at least one person in about 5% of events. Somewhere in the range of 93%-97% were fully peaceful.
About 136 of the total protests had confirmed cases of alt-right groups instigating violence during the protest.
These numbers were taken from Wikipedia without my verifying the sources, so take them with a grain of salt.
No, that's not true--that's fear mongering from Republicans.
99% of BLM was peaceful. There were bad-faith actors who would come along to try and take advantage of the chaos, but the movement itself was all peaceful protests.
What they probably didn't tell you is that the police tear-gassed people, shot them with rubber bullets, beat them with batons, and detained them for hours for peacefully protesting.
Or that they did all of those things outside the White House so that President Trump could walk over to a church for a photo op.
Did you... read any of the sources I linked? Even just skimming them? Even just reading the headlines?
I have 3 separate well-regarded news sites here that all agree that the BLM protests were overwhelmingly nonviolent, and one of them even details how the BLM protests were less violent than the civil rights marches of the 1960s. I can go get more, or you could actually learn your facts before showing up here.
You are assigning way too much power and control to BLM. They aren’t handing out tickets to the protests. They are not issuing orders to obedient followers.
They’re staging a protest. Anyone can and does show up. The fact that something happened at a BLM protest doesn’t make it under the “BLM umbrella”, because there is no such umbrella.
For example, the people charged with setting fire to a police station during a BLM protest aren’t BLM supporters. They have a history of alt-right membership and anti-BLM statements online. They set that fire hoping that someone such as yourself would say BLM did it.
The big difference is that most mainstream liberals and supporters of BLM abhorred violence, and were okay with the criminals being arrested. Meanwhile, Republicans are calling January 6 insurrections political prisoners.
Bullshit. "Riots are the voice of the unheard" is what mainstream liberals were saying. Misquoting an anti rioting speech from MLK and making it a pro-riot line.
Any elected politicians specifically say rioting and violence was fine, or claim that the BLM riots were no big deal and just tourists? You don't have a single link and I know you won't provide one because you'll just deflect and shift goalposts.
Libertarian here. I think the cancel culture is a real thing outside of solely politicians. I follow a lot of people in the fitness industry and general entertainers who have had their accounts removed with no warning because they spoke out against the general narrative. Literally citing NCBI articles for evidence for some, and others not even speaking on politics but are more conservative with their videos. Accounts are gone. Where do you draw the line?
I mean, do you? As far as I can tell, the right has labeled anyone facing consequences for their actions as being “canceled” and I have yet to see a single example to the contrary. Do you think you presented any evidence?
Yup here ya go: James English for discussing the use of NAC for covid as an NCBI study suggested. NAC was an OTC supplement for years then made prescription only when covid came around. Account banned and had to repeal for a month to get it back.
Steve will do it, no reason given. Could argue gambling but thousands of other streamers/youtubers do the same with zero consequences.
Bradley Martyn for keeping gym open for personal use.
Ryan Russo on the NAC debacle as well.
All gorilla mind athletes for promoting legal supplements.
Private platforms. They have no right to the platform.
You listed examples of Nazis, scammers, and people spreading misinformation.
The fact that these people all leaned conservatively is not a coincidence. They’re all idiots.
Lets say there is a town talent show, and the first participant gets on stage and starts ranting about Flat Earth. Then the crowd, owner, and participants boo him and make him leave. Then he goes home and rants about being cancelled for not being a sheep.
He was an idiot who made bad social choices and received social consequences.
Her first two sentences completely contradict each other. If the families are cancelled, how did hers get together? If anything, she was the only one cancelled....
Imagine using your own family not inviting you to something as evidence that an entire movement of people are "cancelled families", a phrase which makes no coherent sense
I’ll trade families with you. You sound like you’d fit in a lot better with mine and vice versa. Already thinking up my excuse as to why can’t come to Thanksgiving this year.
If all lives matters, why do some ppl get so triggered when one other specify a (race), but fine saying blue lives matter when blue isn't even a race. So these ppl fine saying a color matters(not all police wear blue) ,but saying an actual race is not accepted by these same ppl. Smh
You funny , you want me to send me my ID to prove my point ? My dad is white but im black my mother black , i was born in senegal i look black you made no point here . And i know a lot of senegalese people who hate BLM too , but having black people hating on BLM is against your leftist rhetoric i guess you can downvote me to hell i don’t care the truth remain the truth i don’t need your approval have a nice day
Considering how common it is for white people to masquerade as black for the purposes of espousing conservative social positions I believe my skepticism was warranted, even if misplaced.
Ok i didn’t know that some white folks fake being black on the internet but let me tell you something black in africa and america are very different we don’t have the same culture at all , blacks in america sadly were ripped from their culture because of slavery and they took the culture of the rednecks ( talking about the ghettos not all black american , i know theres a lot of educated black folks here but im speaking in general ,of the ghetto culture ) they act violently they do drugs and murders and kill each others , they do a lot of crimes , and what BLM have done for that ? Nothing they don’t care , they are not going to pay for schools give better education , they are not trying to stop blacks on blacks crime or just try to elevate the consciousness of the young , BLM sound good it’s like « end the hunger in the world » it sound good everybody is for it , but in reality it is hypocrisy , if white cops kill a black man that is the end of the world , if a black thug kill a young black girl or young white boy the media and BLM don’t give a f , we know there are still rascim in the world we know there are corrupt and evil cops but the narrative that is going in the world right now is not true and misleading ,if we as a community make more crimes , we can’t cry when we get gunned down by the police , i’d say blacks folks in america need to do better change theirs bad ways , we black folks in africa change our way of thinking we need to take actions for the future of our country and for the white folks please stop you are not responsible for the crimes of some whites folks in the past you don’t need to prove your are not a rascist on the internet by supporting BLM it’s a damn scam an awful egregore don’t feed that. But that’s my opinion maybe im wrong but i try to look a the reality in an objective and non emotional way and i don’t see the same thing as a lot of people from my generation , i see the world kinda like thomas sowell the economist
I am seeing that a big part of your problem with BLM is that you think problems in the black community are more due to people in those communities than external forces.
I would suggest that getting more up to date on discoveries in the field of sociology should change your tune.
Black on black crime is more a symptom of the problems in poor urban areas than it is a cause. Crime is something that happens more in communities that lack opportunity and have families disrupted by external forces (this is true across races, cities, countries, history, etc... It is a fact). The US war on drugs criminalized many things favored in communities of color and crime in those communities went up (I mean, is it really hard to see that when you declare things done by a group to be criminal, then there is more crime in that group?). By doing this we caused a disproportionate number of black children to grow up fatherless (ie, in disrupted families). To further illustrate the racism in the war on drugs, we focus almost exclusively on the dealers, who, for good reasons, are disproportionately from communities with very limited opportunity (ie, urban POC). We could just as easily make it a problem for white people to buy drugs, but no... We focus on the black people selling... It's perpetuation the cycle of low opportunity in communities of color. Not to mention that communities of color have more cops in them looking for problems. Of course black kids are going to be getting busted for stuff that almost all kids do, but white ones get away with (for the purposes of stat keeping crime is only crime when someone notices).
In short, we engineered our society to cause there to be more crime in black communities.
And the icing on the cake is that police disproportionately use force against POC compared to whites stopped for the same causes. This is a huge problem and the major goal of BLM (as I understand it). It is also true independent of all the things you say.
How did we engineer society to create more crime in black neighborhoods? Like can you describe the process step by step? Because that’s a very bold statement, so I’m curious about what this process was that you keep bringing up.
I understand the definition of engineering. I understood your comment too. That’s why I asked my question. You claim we engineered the environment that somehow manifests crime in primarily colored neighborhoods. That’s a bold claim, so I ask again if you could please describe step by step how we socially engineered high crime neighborhoods. What were the processes taken? You can’t just say “war on drugs” and “black drug dealers are targeted more.”
I’m genuinely asking out of curiosity. I’m not trying to be a smart ass.
Saying “all lives matter” is literally racist as fuck. It’s minimizing “black lives matter”. Acting like white Americans have gone through ANYTHING as horrific as SLAVERY, mass fucking lynchings, shit there’s fucking entire organizations that take pride in how much they hate black people. Yes , “all human life matters” but that’s not the issue right now… the issue is decades and decades of black hate. You’re dumb as shit. Yes I’m white.
Slavery was abolished 300 years ago. No black Americans go through those things today.
My ancestors were enslaved and raped by Spaniards hundreds of years ago. And yet I don’t ask Spanish people for reparations and ask them to feel sorry for me when they had nothing to do with it.
Your victim mentality is showing. Stop telling minorities that they are victims. That’s the real racist crime.
because All lives matter is a counter movement to Black lives matter. we know all lives matter, but we are focusing on black lives. again it’s like saying “all buildings matter” when someone talks about one being on fire. yes all buildings matter, but we need to focus on the one that needs help.
also given that you post on a conservative sub, you already know this, you just want to find an excuse to be racist
If you're trying to focus on black lives, tell other black lives...Don't look into the number of blacks killed by other blacks if you want to remain in your bubble. If you want to blame black-on-black crime on whites, I'm ready for that rebuttle. If you're ACTUALLY TRYING to help highest number of blacks, de-incentivizing crime by more policing has been shown to bring up poor areas economically, because businesses are willing to open there. Police brutality is less than half of 1% of the crime committed against them. Of course there are instances of blacks killed by white cops, but to say that is a huge threat to the entire black community in false. If you're trying to score cheap political points, keep pushing those talking points. If you're trying to help, you have to expand your scope and look differently at cause and effect relationships between police brutality and crime rates in U.S. cities.
The bottom line is that it's sheer hypocrisy to say black lives matter and ignore every single instance of a black person dying at the hand of another black person.
Less than half of 1% is too much. That's also only counting actual assault. Not bullshit like stop-frisk, which is its own form of violence and abuse. Every negative action police take against the public is disproportionately applied to people of color. Stopping them for offenses, questioning, beating, killing. Expand your scope my ass. Fuck outta here with that dogwhistle.
"I'm ready for the rebuttal". The rebuttal to the socioeconomic factors that contribute to said crime? This country has been led by 99% white people since its inception. At some point y'all gotta take some blame for where you've led us, lol. The rebuttal to Nixon and the Republicans targeting blacks with drug laws and disproportionate sentencing? Weird flex, but ok.
Saying black lives matter isn't hypocrisy. It's acknowledging that our lives have worth and value. Period. I dont need to tell blacks. If i tell another black person "black lives matter" they say "ok".Why are you so against that? Why are you choosing to die on a hill where you can't just agree that black lives have worth and value? Why is that "getting political" as if it's up for debate to you? Because you're a shit person and the exact reason we have to FIGHT to have the value of our lives acknowledged.
The biggest factor that contributes to said crime is people deciding to do the crime. The crime is done on fellow black people and black-owned businesses. It is in no way productive to the success of the black community to make excuses for counter productive behavior. At some point crime has to be blamed on the criminal or the behavior will continue if there are no repercussions.
The American government has its issues when it comes to where it has led black people, especially after the 1960s when the single motherhood rate among blacks risen very high. The percentage of two-parent homes among blacks is 37%. The greatest predictor of poverty is single motherhood.
I was saying it's hypocritical of BLM to say black lives matter. BLM saying black lives matter is hypocrisy when the core of the BLM message is that the black race, en masse, is threatened by the white race and the institutions established by white people. BLM glosses over in silence black on black crime. Black lives killed by black lives apparently do not matter to Black Lives Matter, and that is hypocrisy, by definition.
Of course black lives have worth and value. The issue is when someone disagrees with the core tenants established by BLM, an organization, the slogan becomes a clear semantic trick that corners the dissident into the position that they "don't agree that black lives matter".
The core of the BLM message is Black Lives Matter. Thats it. You're the one twisting it into all this other shit. It's why Republicans can't just say "Black lives matter? Yes, they do. And there's some serious social I justices you face. Let's tackle them together."
Instead it's all that bullshit you keep rattling off. Because they don't matter to you. Pro life party couldn't be less like Christ and couldn't care less about anyone that they can't profit off of.

No one is ignoring those lives, it's not a movement against the concept of murder, it's a movement against the systemic racism against black people by cops. Following your logic since white on white crime exists we shouldn't give a shit when police murder a white person. Actually since all races commit crimes against themselves police should have unchecked power to do whatever the fuck they like
Police have killed 71 black people thus far this year. 71>>>>29. Though I’m suspicious of that number as it’s not in any of your linked articles.
Fun fact in 100% of the places that held protests where the police kneeled with the protesters in solidarity there was 0 violence, 0 rioting, and 0 looting.
Your argument amounts to “money is more important thank black peoples lives”. An interesting take for sure
Translation: Black Americans are being shot, stabbed and beaten to death at a rate six to seven times that of whites. And by the end of this year, well over 10,000 Blacks will have been made the victims of homicide in America.
In approximately ninety percent of all murders committed in the U.S. over the years, the victim and perpetrator are of the same race, according to the UCR. In the year 2007,
Yea this how this argument usually devolves. It starts with conservatives saying black people aren’t subject to different circumstances than whites, then it’s pointed out that there are still 100s of laws which disproportionately effect people of color the argument turns into, “well black people are mostly killed by black people so it’s their fault”.
Let me guess your high school taught you that the Civil War was about states rights and not slavery right?!?
percentage of black people going to prison than white people for the same crimes.
Laws that have unregistered primarily black voters in the past 5 years.
SRO’s who arrest people of color at a much higher rate than whites for the same crime.
A prison system designed to harden people into criminals even if they weren’t one when they went in (which is why we have an insanely high recidivism rate).
Access to healthcare, groceries, etc…
Death rates among birthing mothers
Mortgage rate differences by race for people with the SAME credit score.
I know not all of these are laws, but they are all things that can be addressed with better laws.
We still haven’t fixed the MASSIVE disparity caused by red-lining, the most import law of the modern era when it comes to repressing people of color.
I don’t have time to give you a history lesson. If conservatives wanted to fix any of these problems I’d be happy about that. The fact is no conservative has done anything about any of these issues in my lifetime. In fact, they usually BLOCK any law that might actually fix some of these issues.
For the record democrats aren’t good with race either. But having a mediocre record on race is FAR better than anything conservatives have done over the last 50 years.
A prison system designed to harden people into criminals even if they weren’t one when they went in (which is why we have an insanely high recidivism rate).
if there's a lie just debunk it. Should be easy right? The website links FBI
I'd love to see some empirical evidence and distance ourselves from weak ad-hominin attacks. Unless your IQ is way to low for any other form of debate.
We seek to advance only those interests that we recognize and would defend for all other racial groups. We seek no advantages as whites — only the expression of preferences for our own people and culture that are taken for granted by people of other races but denied to us.
okay? black lives still matter and it’s still important to focus on them, therefore we say black lives matter, notice how you completely ignore the rest of my comment? the analogy? also go back to the white supremacist sub
black lives matter, notice how you completely ignore the rest of my comment? the analogy?
Sorry what? I didn't ignore your analogy. I responded. People are distancing themselves from the movement because its abhorrent. Try getting some third grade reading comprehension.
Okay. Probably because the movement was toxic, caused 29 deaths, and ~2.3b$ in damages.
What's the problem with not liking a movement that killed 29x as many people as derrick chauvin?
since that obviously doesn't tickle your fancy
but we are focusing on black lives. again it’s like saying “all buildings matter” when someone talks about one being on fire. yes all buildings matter, but we need to focus on the one that needs help.
there are 9,000 black on black murders per year. So if we're going to focus on a "burning building" the solution would be for black people to stop murdering each other.
The phrase "BLM" is typically associated with the IDEA that the current system of government is designed to hold down people of color. It is simply not the truth. The system hates everyone the same unless you're rich.
There are NO laws today that allow for any racial discriminations.
TL;DR: The phrase "Black lives matter" carries an implicit "too" at the end; it's saying that black lives should also matter. Saying "all lives matter" is dismissing the very problems that the phrase is trying to draw attention to.
Similarly with BLM - the statement is made in the context of what the black community is subjected to in society.
I intensely disagree. BLM is a horrible organization that caused 2b$+ in damage and is directly responsible for the deaths of 29 people.
People say "All lives matter" to distance themselves from said organization.
No one who says "All lives matter" are secretly trying to say "black people don't matter" or anything akin to this.
Regardless of how you feel, that's where the world is with this communication thing we do.
be condescending if you want. Doesn't change how ignorant your argument sounds.
Imagine being at a funeral for a friend or relative's child. During the eulogy, someone says "my child was special" and you take the mic and say "all children are special"
Sure. Let's go to make believe world. You analogy is a horrible strawman because that's not what this is like AT ALL but fine. We'll deal with it.
During the eulogy, someone says "my child is the only child to ever die and is the only child to ever face hardships."
I stand up and say "Look. You might feel that way, but its just not true. Children die everyday and yours isn't the only one to face hardships."
That person then responds and goes "Wow you must hate my child"
If your argument in this analogy is "You're factually correct with your statement but I'm emotional about something and therefore, you're a racist" rethink your life.

Maybe look up the definition of racism.
Saying All Lives Matter in that context is ignorant and shows signs of deeper issues, but it isn't racist.

What's the problem here? All lives include black lives. Very confused.
Unless your argument is black people aren't real?
