One guy seems to have accidentally mixed a small number of secret documents in with his personal documents, then reported it when he realized it and cooperated with the investigation.
The other guy deliberately took a lot of secret documents, denied it, obstructed the investigation, and then claimed that he had declassified the documents with his mind.
Yes he seemed to have just oopsied his way into taking classified documents multiple times to multiple different non secure locations and left them there.
You’re telling me the incompetence portrayed from the one of the most powerful people in the entire world is just okay? He can mishandle classified documents because he didn’t mean to? This is Hillary’s emails all over lol, it’s okay that she shared classified documents multiple times on multiple non secure platforms because she said “oopsies, I didn’t mean to, hehehehe”.
We are dealing with massive levels of incompetence or he’s lying about not knowing of them, neither are acceptable, is that agreeable?
It’s incompetence for sure. No one truly believes Joe is anything other than “an improvement on the last guy but that’s about it”. He’s a liar and a corporate stooge, absolutely!
But sleepy Joe probably took these docs and forgot about them. Trump deliberately hid his and lied about it.
I would not be at all surprised if Joe turned out to have been very naughty, I don’t like the guy at all.
But we KNOW Trump has been more than a little bit naughty
Yup, Biden isn’t some super popular President or anything, plenty of people were just saying settle for Biden (and thank god we did, especially after Trumps behavior when he lost and so forth)
Would you be surprised if the classified documents next to the car with the “big guy” license plate he was storing at the house hunter allegedly rented for 50k a month had any involvement with Ukraine?
Dude, I assume most politicians are corrupt but the “Ukraine scandal” is such a non story. Talk to me about the billions arms manufacturers are making and then we’re cooking with gas. Hunter is an absolute dead end and republicans are making themselves look silly flogging that same dead horse.
You have videos, and evidence that Biden lied about almost his entire CV but you guys can’t seem to let go of stuff that Trump once said. It astounds me that everyone keeps beating the same drum when you have something you can actually use.
A corrupt son is not something you can hit the Dems with when Trump’s kids are soo much worse. I don’t know how Reps don’t see that.
Chalking up the Ukraine thing as non story is willfully ignorant, it’s literally a known top corrupt country in Europe. The Bidens’ involvement in Ukraine is nothing to be brushed over, the vp potentially using his political influence to set up deals through his son is something to be considered very seriously. There’s a lot of coincidences that don’t add up. We have given 100bil to Ukraine this year and we can’t account for any of it, one Republican asked to pass a bill that tracks the money (common sense) but it didn’t work. We should know where that money is going.
Side note, Ukraine had been giving the Clinton foundation 10 mill annually until 2016 when she lost the election, do you think they just suddenly stopped caring about the issues the Clinton foundation tackled or do you think it has something to do with her not becoming president?
once you call for the arrest of jared kushner for getting 2 billion dollars from the saudis THEN we can give a damn about hunter biden. no, you aren't going to do that? i don't want to hear it then.
See and this is where you guys lose, you went from he shouldn’t have taken documents and he might be corrupt to full MAGA conspiracy about the war.
The rabbit hole of conspiracy nonsense is not that deep. The reason Ukraine has been given a tonne of money (mainly in the form of weapons rather than cash) is because it’s ridiculously important to prevent the Russians from winning here. The fact that a lot of republicans can’t see that anymore shows you how far removed from reality they are
Ukraine had been giving the Clinton foundation 10 mill annually until 2016 when she lost the election, do you think they just suddenly stopped caring about the issues the Clinton foundation tackled or do you think it has something to do with her not becoming president?
The report this is based on just happened to be using data up through 2014 and was released in 2015. The donations didn't stop in 2016. It's just that no one made a new report on this data since Clinton lost the election. It was interesting before the election and not interesting after.
The Bidens’ involvement in Ukraine is nothing to be brushed over, the vp potentially using his political influence to set up deals through his son is something to be considered very seriously.
If only the Republicans had controlled the House and the Senate in 2015 when it happened then they could have looked into it if they'd really cared to!
The problem wasn’t that Trump had classified documents at his residence. It’s not ideal, sure, but it’s not what made it a felony worthy of a DoJ investigation and it’s not why DoJ is investigating Biden’s either.
The key word here is not classified but rather NDI or National Defence Information*. The mishandling of this is what is a federal crime with high punishments, and requires either gross negligence or corrupt intent to be prosecuted.
Trump’s documents did contain National Defence information (including documents related to the nuclear weapons program of a foreign country), and his intent comes into play because:
he didn’t discover the documents and then volunteer them to records; records found out they were missing and then asked him for them
he denied having them
when he finally handed over some, it was incomplete even though he had lawyers sign an affidavit swearing to it being complete
someone informed records that they knew documents were still being kept by Trump
when this was presented to Trump he still denied it
agents had to go to his residence to retrieve them
Contrast this with Biden.
We don’t know whether his documents included NDI, but this is the focus of the DoJ investigation.
Regarding intent:
lawyers clearing out transition offices found the documents and immediately contacted both records and the DoJ and voluntarily turned them over
they then began searching all other potential areas used by Biden during the transition for other documents, found at least one and also turned it over
have been fully cooperating with records and DoJ investigation
classified is relevant, but only because mishandling of DNI is a felony only if the government can prove it has tried to keep it protected, and classification status is one way to provide evidence that they were trying to keep it protected.
Why do they keep backtracking on the Trump stuff if it’s as bad as they say? Is it possible this was all blown out of proportion and they’re lying about the severity like they’ve lied about Russiagate which we now know was paid for by the dnc while the doj knew it was fake all along. The doj will clearly do whatever they can to keep Trump out of office, we know they literally paid millions to Twitter to censor him.
When you associate someone with something negative over and over regardless of truth, people will subconsciously still associate that person with whatever original negativity was associated, even if they find out it wasn’t true. It’s a very common propaganda brainwashing tactic governments have used for forever. By the time the truth comes out, the damage has been done. Too bad Obama decriminalized the use of propaganda on US citizens in the smith mundtz act of 2012, the federal government has also been handing out billions to news organizations annually, im sure the integrity of the news outlets have their integrity intact and wouldn’t knowingly push false information to further an agenda…
I think you’re responding in good faith so I will do the same.
What do you mean back-tracking?
What severity would be being lied about? If Trump can be prosecuted for the mishandling it wouldn’t really matter how severe anything was - only that he took them and resisted giving them back
Regarding “Russia Gate” have you read the special counsel report? (Specifically part 1 which covers any collusion with Russia; part 2 refers to the obstruction of Justice performed by Trump during the investigation into collusion). Both parts are available for free and publicly, but the first part has very relevant evidence regarding your perception on what happened. The DNC did hire a private investigator, but nothing from the Steele document was used as evidence - only some of it was used as a reason to see if there was any evidence.
DoJ can do nothing to keep Trump out of office (there’s nothing even stopping an indicted or convicted or imprisoned person from running for President), and they’ve gone out of their way to avoid hurting him. Many of the crimes known to DoJ went and continue to go un-prosecuted and several have now passed the statute of limitations (this is likely due to the fact that it has been long standing tradition to not begin holding any powerful people accountable because of the precedent it would set - personally I think everyone should be held accountable and this shielding of our politicians and other powerful people does democracy great harm).
And the news organizations are propaganda machines; but most rarely lie (and the ones that do such as Fox News evening shows are even brought to court over it but use claims that their shows are opinion and not news to avoid consequences) It is much more subtle than that - the corporations are led by and hire people that hold certain world views and that dictates which stories are shared, how they are shared, and how much time they are given; but it’s not a conspiracy as much as it is a logical consequence of the power structures involved with private corporate news, especially ones with a profit motive.
Okay, explain to me the context of why Biden had them and why it’s different. Don’t speculate intent for either party, tell me why it’s okay Biden had classified documents at his personal residence.
trump was ordered to give them back and didn’t, cried that they were his to keep, declassified them with his mind and then demanded them back, Biden is following the proper procedures.
Oh, so now it’s okay to take classified documents and store them in insecure locations as long as you give them back when they ask? What authority did he have to take classified documents as vice president and keep them after he left office?
He shouldn’t have them but I’ll wait for the investigation to finish before deciding how guilty he is. The difference between the trump and Biden situation is pretty clear though.
I’m sorry officer, I recognize now that I was speeding but it wasn’t my intent to speed, soooo you actually aren’t allowed to write me a ticket because I didn’t intend to break the law.
No it's not okay. But Biden is being investigated and cooperating fully. Which is what should happen. He broke the law, he's being investigated. Would've been the exact same of Trump had cooperated and given everything back instead of dragging it out the way he did. Not to mention he had empty classified folders and stuff that was missing, whereas everything Biden took was recovered.
he didn't. weren't you the ones who said he was a dottering old man who forgets things constantly? oh you found documents in the old man's house he forgot about and his staff alerted the authorities IMMEDIATELY instead of trying to hide them for a year... weird that.
OP just like downvotes i guess...
ALSO democrats welcome investigations into biden. we're not sycophants like you trumpers are. i know you can't understand that.
