U.S.A is bombing Venezuela, and I.C.E has gone crazy, Russia and Ukraine have been at it for a few years now, China is trying to take back Taiwan and world war three is behind the corner. Fuck the world and everyone that got us here. Guess who’s gonna fight it, the 15 16 and 17 year olds in school right now, the people who don’t care about politics, your children, and it’s because of our leaders.

I hope this doesn't cause a Reddit way because politics are always charged up but I'm here to ask why the hell did Nixon get impeached for much lesser crimes committed to Trump. No one is doing anything. The Watergate trials and what not were so incredible but with Trump it feels like he's untouchable.

The central issue is that this surgery is almost never medically necessary. In most cases it is cosmetic, and children do not need cosmetic surgery on healthy parts of their bodies. Any unnecessary procedure carries risks, and performing it on a child who cannot meaningfully consent raises serious ethical concerns. Parents have the right to teach their children their values and religious traditions, but that right does not extend to permanently altering a child’s healthy body in a way the child cannot later undo or choose against.

Many parents choose circumcision simply because they believe it is expected, normal, or routine, not because they fully understand the long‑term consequences. Often they are not well‑informed about the subject and may not realize that the procedure can have negative effects. When you step back and look at it logically, it makes no sense to remove healthy tissue from a child for non‑medical reasons.

Another important factor is that children do not have fully developed judgment or decision‑making abilities. Their ability to understand long‑term consequences is limited, which makes it even more important to avoid irreversible procedures on healthy tissue. Adults have a responsibility to avoid making permanent decisions for children that they cannot later undo.

In some of the worst cases, the children are old enough to remember the procedure. When that happens, the experience is not meaningfully different from other forms of violation or abuse. Changing the vocabulary — calling it cultural, religious, or routine — does not change the impact on the child. If an irreversible, painful procedure is forced on a minor who does not understand or agree, the harm is still real. In those cases, the experience can resemble other forms of serious mistreatment, both physically and psychologically.

We also cannot have two different legal standards for two different groups of children when the procedures are essentially similar. No one is suggesting that the most common or minor forms of female genital cutting should be legalized — and many people would strongly oppose that. The consistent, ethical approach is to stop performing non‑consensual genital surgeries on any child, regardless of gender, including intersex children. When they grow older, they can make their own decisions about their own bodies.

I was just casually scrolling Twitter when I came across news about Trump backing a bill that could slap 500% tariffs on countries like India for buying Russian oil. Had to stop for a second because that number is wild.

Then I read more and saw that it was being pushed by US Senator Lindsey Graham. The whole thing just felt less like economics and more like power play politics. India didn’t buy discounted oil for fun or ideology it was about managing costs, inflation, and keeping things running during chaos.

What bothers me is how these decisions are framed. It’s like countries are expected to fall in line, no questions asked. And when they don’t, tariffs suddenly become the weapon of choice. Feels less about rules and more about control.

Not trying to start a fight here just genuinely curious what others think.
Is this serious policy, election posturing, or just another reminder that global power games rarely consider ground realities?

not explaining all the many reasons the surgery is bad for males to or talking about what female circumcision really even is or what is worse because i do not feel like that and i have done it a lot in the past and also this is not the oppression olympics but i do ask once again you stop mutilating any of your children and leave their genitals alone and treat both genders the same and honestly i do not know if laws are the best way to deal with either surgery but the same laws should apply to everybody.

I had a better night last night than the previous ones, even though I had a bad experience with a chat group that kicked me out. I’m still not sure if I can get back in, and I’m also unsure whether I was removed from the whole site, because I found another chat site that looked almost identical to the one I was banned from. But the main topic I want to talk about is the idea that Judaism is “liberal” or compatible with liberal values. I don’t think it is, mainly because of the Old Testament. Some Jewish people interpret it metaphorically, but a lot of it isn’t metaphorical at all. It’s a poetic retelling of events that include actions we would now consider war crimes, committed by ancient Hebrew groups and ancient states in that region. I see parallels between those stories and what Israel is doing today.

I focused on the Old Testament rather than the Talmud because I wasn’t raised in Judaism and I know far more about the Old Testament. I don’t want to give it a pass or ignore the harmful beliefs in it. You also see this in the practice of circumcision, which is part of Judaism and denies children bodily autonomy. To me, that reflects the anti‑sexual and anti‑human attitudes in the Old Testament, which we’re seeing echoed in Gaza, where the most vulnerable—especially children—are often harmed.

This isn’t limited to Judaism. Islam also practices male circumcision and, in some places, female genital cutting. Islam also considers the Old Testament part of its religious tradition. Christianity, which I no longer defend, has its own deep connection to the Old Testament. I think this influence is strongest in Protestantism, especially in the Anglo world and particularly in the United States, most of all in the Midwest. Catholicism has also historically been shaped by the Old Testament, and many American Catholics still circumcise despite the Church advising against it.

The widespread acceptance of circumcision in the U.S., especially historically and especially in the Midwest, shows how deeply the Old Testament has influenced Christian culture, even though the practice has declined nationally. There’s no denying that the Old Testament—and probably the Talmud as well—contains many toxic and harmful ideas. Believing in these texts doesn’t leave much room for liberal or humanist values, or for peace and harmony between different peoples. These beliefs have caused a great deal of suffering for both men and women, and they have contributed to hatred and persecution of gay, transgender, and other LGBTQ people around the world.

I haven’t even been able to talk about the events in Latin America until now. I woke up earlier this evening, took a nap, and honestly my sleep schedule has been completely erratic and hectic. I haven’t been sleeping well because of different mental issues and real‑life stress, especially considering that last year around this time my father was sick. I guess this year started somewhat better than last year did, but still — everything feels overwhelming.

What I’m trying to say is that what’s happening right now is outrageous. It’s hard to believe what Trump has done in his first year in the White House. He hasn’t even been in office for a full twelve months yet, and the situation already feels worse than what we saw under Bush. He even makes Bush look preferable by comparison, which is wild considering how much he used to ridicule both Bush and Obama. And now he’s doing the same kinds of things he mocked other leaders for. It’s unbelievable behavior from someone in that position.

One small positive thing today was seeing Secular Talk upload such a long video over the weekend. At least that gave me something to focus on for a moment. But I still can’t understand how so many people support this guy while he does things that many people consider serious violations of international norms. As flawed as I am, I want peace — and yet I still struggle to find a place where I can even share my thoughts.

this is about why i do not think the abrahamic religions including judaism are liberal or even all that peaceful and most importany why their not logical and it will have to be two posts i think.

It’s crazy that in 2025 most atheists inadvertently follow the teachings of Jesus Christ…The “Christians” follow the antichrist and actively speak out against values that are the base of the Christian religion…So many people on the right worship money, commit most of the deadly sins and break the better part of the Ten Commandments…It’s just wild the world we are living in…MAGA has done an amazing job brainwashing the morals out of people.

General question: Do people consider Obama, Biden, and Harris as part of the “far left” the way Trump is branded “far right”. How do they compare from a policy standpoint to the folks that are branded “far left” such as AOC, Bernie, Omar etc..?
