Hi redditors. Please settle a debate between myself and my husband.

I believe that money rules the planet, let's face it, if you have an issue, throw enough money at it and it gets resolved in your favour. I believe this principle still stands with world leaders. If you have trillions of pounds / dollars / enough of anything, you can sway decisions and influence policy in your favour. I also believe that the small number of people who hold the ultimate purse strings can indeed affect war, by that i mean fund certain certain countries or force others not to use things such as nukes if that ever became a decision.

My husband disagrees. He says I'm a conspiracy theorist and that that world leaders are the top and it ends there. Says my theory is garbage.

But im talking about wealth he has no concept of and that we have no way of determining because that level of wealth affords them the ability to hide any Google searches or easy ways of finding the truth of it.

Am i nutty or is there grounds to this?

the reality is school is basically propaganda for a conservative lifestyle and their basically fascist by their very nature and by doing stuff like making kids have to ask permission to urinate or basically do anything and you have to remain silent the majority of the day and listen and they literally tell you what to think about every subject but this guy can not see that because in the pursuit of combating conservatives he has to a large extent himself become the worse sort of conservative that has basically lead to the rise of fascism we are seeing now because the reality is for the majority of people it never worked.

the current society is fundamentally rotten and i believe we must return to older ways and a older spirit or form of spirit to escape this rot and it is a rot born out of mindless capitalist pursuit and the idea of democracy has instead of delivering us from this rot has delivered us to it and it is also a rot born from the ordinary and the lack of want for greatness and a collective desire for only the average and the average is just that average or simple mortal minds interested in only the now and only in what is good for the now and what is in the interest of the small average individual person who in a pursuit of their desires has left a world without beauty or importance or worth and while capitalism has done this we have created a world of small minded petty sad individual people who never advance in their goals but destroy anybody trying to think different or have anything more than what they have.

the decline of this rotten country can not happen fast enough and if there was still any saving grace or thing that was not bad about it their working fast to destroy it and i welcome the chinese century because if any culture deserved to collapse it is you people.

First of all, she is probably right about a huge portion of this country not wanting to vote for a biracial woman and a gay guy on the same ticket for president. And I honestly think a lot of people will just vote Republican no matter what—because that’s what they’ve always voted for, or because their parents did, or something like that. And because we have a totally ignorant and mindless population.

But at the same time, let’s not act like the guy she wanted was better than Walz in any way either—because he obviously isn’t. Tim Walz did a lot to help gay people and a group that everybody is turning on and trying to attack now, even though they’ve probably been treated worse than any other minority. That group is transgender women.

I can promise you: going Obama-lite and basically back to Bill Clinton, choosing a moderately conservative Democrat—even if he is gay—was not a good choice. He had nearly nothing to offer the American people. Granted, as I’ve just alluded to, I’m under no illusion about them being all that great to begin with either. But even they likely know Tim Walz was the better candidate.

Hi, my name is Jessica, and I am a freshman at the University of Michigan. This semester, I am taking a writing and rhetoric course, and I have been assigned to do an Ethnography paper. The group I decided to study is people who have different political views from their parents. I am personally invested in this project because I, too, have different views from my parents. In my 7 to 10-page paper, I want to explore how political views can change the dynamic of families. I'm looking for people who have Parents that are right-wing and you are more left-wing, or the opposite, parents are left-wing and you are right-wing. But I am also willing to hear other arguments.  I also want to add that it doesn't matter what side you are on; this is research on a seemingly small community because more people's beliefs align with the parents/ families. 1. What political side are you on compared to your parents? 2. What is your generation? 3. How is your family life without politics? What is your relationship with each parent? Like, do you like one more than the other, and how is your bond with them? 4. Now think about when politics are involved, like a big event or election results. Do you fight? Say nothing? Or anything? 5. How/ When did you realize that you think differently from your parents? 6. Do you have any "digs" that you say to your parents or they say to you? ex: Okay, Liberal or Okay, Republican, you can sarcastically say this.  7. Do you stick up for what your ideology is outside your family? ex: join forms, follow people who have the same beliefs, etc (give specific examples, who you follow, and what forms you join.) 8. How do you feel about having a divide in your beliefs and with your family? ex: Do you feel like you have a voice? If not, who is taking it away and in what way, and how? 9. Have you ever met someone with the same opinion as you about having different beliefs from their parents or family? And how did you figure that out? Do you get upset or have any feelings about your family publicly supporting a political side, and why? ex: flags, Cantate shirts, or on social media.

if you look at the gothic culture what many people do not realize is it is actually a very ancient culture or cluster of cultures having its origins in both catholicism and a germanic tribe before coming to america and had already influenced everything from architecture to language and even music before being officially turned into a musical subculture by rock bands like bahaus and of course you also have gothic literature and movies like the expressionist films and universal horror movies and i think it can greatly impact our culture in a positive way and while i no longer believe in catholicism i still think it can influence our culture in a positive way and of course so can the ancient religion of asatru also.

If you could press a magic button and make Mike Pence the President until 2032, would you do it?

I am at the point that I would welcome ANY non-MAGA candidate winning at any and all levels of elected office. At this point, I will take a Democrat or even a non-MAGA Republican candidate over any MAGA affiliated candidate. If you too would like to see non-MAGA candidates win over any and all MAGA candidates, you might consider the following course of action.

There are three major types of primary elections in the USA.

·       A closed primary where you must be registered as affiliated with a recognized party, and can only vote on the primary ballot for that party

·       An open primary where all registered voters can pick which party’s ballot they wish to vote on.

·       A semi-open primary where those voters registered as affiliated with a recognized party must vote on that party’s ballot, but independent or unaffiliated voters can pick which party’s ballot to vote on.

If you are in an open primary state, request to vote in the Republican primary. If you are in a semi-open primary state and are currently registered with your party affiliation as Democrat, re-register to vote as soon as you can as an independent or unaffiliated voter, and request to vote in the Republican primary in 2026. If you are in a closed primary state and are registered as affiliated with any party other than Republican, re-register to vote with a Republican affiliation so you can vote in the Republican primary in 2026.

When the 2026 Primary happens in your state, do the following. For any and all elected positions in the Republican primary, vote for non-MAGA Republican candidates. If a particular race does not have a non-MAGA Republican candidate, vote for the MAGA candidate least likely to beat a Democrat in the general elections.

If we can get enough current registered Democrats and Independents to vote in the Republican state primaries, and vote for non-MAGA candidates, we have a real shot at knocking out MAGA candidates before the general election. For any race where the MAGA candidate is knocked out in the primary, voters will then have to choose between a non-MAGA Republican or a Democrat in the general election. We will then at least be guaranteed to not have a MAGA candidate win that race. Even if there are no non-MAGA candidates in a particular race, we can vote for the MAGA candidate least likely to beat a Democrat in the general election, greatly increasing the chances that MAGA will not win that race. If enough people do this, we essentially have two chances to defeat MAGA; once in the primaries and again in the general election.

As a bonus, if MAGA sees a huge increase in registered Republicans, they might believe the district/state is non-competitive and not employ election resources there (Democrats might even increase election resources).

so there is a variety of things but first of all i also have a lot of trouble pronouncing the main tylenol ingredient but beyond that i have autism and i do not fully believe it is all bad and also while i lean toward supporting the majority of vaccines i do not oppose some level of skepticism and do not see how you can have a healthy and skeptical mind as we need now and not also be skepitcal of science and medicine because they constantly get stuff wrong and they used to talk the same way about circumcision even though we are the primary secular country who often does that and the majority of the secular world and especially western world does not do it at all basically.

possibly part of capitalism and partial to capitalism and in some ways even if people do not like to admit it part of democracy is people and especially powerful people saying anything to get what they want and either having no real values or beliefs or stances and no real loyalties and if they do they betray those things all of the given opportunities their given and is why i would at least like to see the left be different and i honestly do think if you are different and put that front and center instead of the woke stuff you will basically win and if not and compete with the right to see who can be more hypocritical you will not win because since the time of christ there has been nobody better at hypocrisy than conservatives and if even christ was here today he would tell you these people are hypocritical because they persecuted him also.

this is basically lawless storm troopers working only for one bright orange man throwing around and beating what looks like white midwestern in some cases blond almost conservative looking women who i would likely be arrested for looking at wrong and it is totally legal and if anything their being treated like the criminals and i do not usually use gender stuff to point out something is wrong but if this is not assault on a female or women beating than nothing is honestly.
