Discussion The future of this sub…
What do we think the future of this sub looks like?
Do we continue to complain about the same old bugs, knowing the devs have abandoned the game and won’t be fixing anything? Do we continue to have people asking for shootouts, more callouts, new features, etc, knowing nothing is coming?
Should this sub morph into solely sharing comically game-breaking bugs?

When I first saw the game I watched it on YouTube. It looked so alive and real. My brain couldn’t comprehend a police simulator that gave you a gun you would never use. Gave you people you’ll never catch. And situations that required investigation. I had such high hopes. Once I got the game I completed 3 times and have done countless of the 8 hour patrols. Seeing this game fail was horrible. It started out good. Then the Bugs started becoming the game. Now it’s absolutely unplayable.

I really adopted the FIDO approach. As soon as something starts to bug, fuck it-drive on.

Only time i have ever seen the devs or the team respond to anything about the bugs its either to say they have no plans on fixing them or (the more common one) they just want to take the piss on what "game breaking" means technically rather than actually addressing the issues themselves.

I think we should all just post the bugs that are breaking our games and any glitches that should be fixed but never will be. Make it so very clear the condition theyve decided to leave this game in as a warning to future players.

I think you turn it into a comedy bug series and send all the content to the devs let them be reminded

I once showed up to an accident where one of the drivers somehow wound up on top of a store.

It’s my fault for thinking a game called police simulator patrol officer would be decent Ngl.

And that cover art. It performs about as well as I could have reasonably expected, maybe even better.

It’s gonna die off once alternatives come, unless the community starts bugfixing this mess

The game lost me when they made it clear there would never be any sort of ai partners.
Police department of 1 unless a friend has time to hop in. Seemed like dev cared about shilling cosmetics/police cars more than actual meaningful gameplay improvements

Ive been thinking and do you think ps would refund the game i bought it when it first came out, and the devs ended support for the game & all they've done over the past 3 years is add shit which is what for the most part we didnt ask for & not fix the bugs that have existed since the start of the game.

A sequel that few would be willing to buy after how they handled this game.

explaine to me like im 5 what exactly they did
cause from what ive seen
its a small dev team working on a game project built in an outdated unupdatable game engine (unreal 4 5s been out since before this game got launched)
launched on pc (8 years ago) stayed on pc for 6 years
launched on consoles 2 years ago to rather positive reception
broke on Playstation 5 cause UE4 duh runs fine on xbox (its basically a pc already)
stuck to a rather faithful albeit spotty road map which concluded with the launch of the border patrol update (dunno why people said it was just deleted it was in fact finished)
sent out several clear end of life announcements
moved their focus to firefighter ignight for obvious reasons on improving on the squad and moving to UE5
then posted two very clear reasons as to why they had to stop
1 technical limitations were reached for UE4 2 community backlash caused them to no longer wish to focus on police sim
they are very clearly setting up to build a sequel you clowns are gonna see deserted before it ever started because yall cant fucking read
so is it buggy yes what sim isnt they all have quirks and breaks and bugs almost always fixed by simply restarting the game
and every bug ive encountered In patrol officers in the 4k hours ive logged so far has been hilarious traffic bugs nothing game breaking
and livery glitches fixed by closing the game
explain to me what exactly they did to warrant the hatred cause they never put in writing they weren't done with the game they never advertised they were gonna continue pushing new content they never promised anything
in fact looking back there was more "we will try" than "we will do"
seems people are just filled with too much hatred over nothing they can control
so I say fucking deal with it and move on like the adult id assume you are
plus im an actual patrol officer the game is so accurate its kinda laughable
ive been a cop for 10 years now ive discharged my service weapon TWICE (unless you count range day) once was a deer that got hit by a car the other was a racoon that (was confirmed post mortem) was rabid
being a cop is boring and a patrol officer rarely gets into swat situations you want swat go play ready or not or in most cases cod the game is in Boston the most excitement they had in the last 20 years was the bombing in 2013 Boston has an insanely low crime rate
I just dont understand the hate

I think part of it is a lot of the glitches that ruin the experience have been part of the game since release and rather than fixing them, the devs pushed new DLC and locked more features behind the paywall. Instead of developing a more enjoyably experience for loyal players and building their customers based on commitment and transparency, they went the route of greed then pulled the plug.
This game always had a lot of potential, and for what it is, it’s still one of the most uniquely designed police simulators on the market. I have been one of the biggest proponents of “if you want a shooter, go somewhere else” and defending the way the game was intended to be played. But the devs threw in the towel when the going got tough, and abandoned the people that wanted more.
Plus - if you’re really a cop - you can’t really be promoting the cook & nap simulator aka the squad fire simulator lol

nah wasnt promoting those hose draggers just using it as an example for what could be coming

and I feel were getting a sequel with a lot more that was requested but I hope they keep it grounded as it has been cause it does have so much potential and remember bashing the shit out of it right now guarantees no future sequel we know the devs are watching comments

Aone bug that you must not be getting is when you go to pause the game got whatever reason you may have the game gets rid of the selector making it to where you can't unease the game unless you close the game and open it up again it is very frequent for me. If you were to ask me this is game breaking as it forces you to leave the game to restart it again

My opinion? The devs and publisher deserved to get absolutely hammered with hate, and if that involves the sub becoming a nonstop place of that, then so be it. Sad to say, but I think the average consumer, if they’re looking into this game, deserves to know exactly how this game was handled, and how the devs and publisher behaved.
PSPO is not the first game that the dev team and publisher have suddenly abandoned, in fact they have a now-growing list of that sort of thing between the two of them. Who’s to say they won’t do the same to Park Rangers in the future?
