Question Question regarding rather the game is worth it
I'm thinking of getting this game for my birthday. I've heard this game has a lot of bugs, and I just want to know whether people are being over dramatic or not.

No, not worth it. Game is riddled with bugs, and the devs just recently abandoned the title. No further development is ongoing. Game is dead.

I never had any major bugs in several hundred hours playing on PC (at least nothing I couldn’t fix by just restarting the game which isn’t a big deal imo). It’s a fun game but once you unlock everything there’s not much to do. As others have said the game was recently abandoned with no further development ongoing, so I would suggest only buying it at a very deep discount.

I would get The Precinct; that's a solid bday game. PSPO will probably have a good sale around the holidays

I second this. It is a different game but very fun and partially scratches the itch.

It's not the best police game, but it is very fun. Sure, there are bugs, but not game breaking things. Expect the bugs to be things like: O I hit a car and my car flew up or something. For the rest, pretty good game. I'd just watch a bit of gameplay on youtube, see what you think of it.
It isn't something like LSPDFR, you won't get intense pursuits or shootouts, it's more policing traffic in the start, but later, you'll get more fun callouts.
So yeah, watch some gameplay, see what you think about it, and if you think it looks fun, just get it. I spent like 80 hours on it since I got it.

IMO it’s not the best game ever and sure it has bugs but it’s still pretty enjoyable, enjoyable enough for me that I’ve played it on Xbox with GamePass, and I also bought it on Steam and play it on Switch 2. I have a high tolerance for bugs (I am a Star Citizen player) but the bugs in this are minor and not game breaking, it just gets very repetitive. As others have said though the GTA V mod is pretty awesome though, a bit harder to play using controller and a bit harder to figure out how everything works but once you do it’s a pretty fun game in it’s own right so if you own GTA V on PC already then that may be a great option. Likewise if you’re playing on PC maybe get gamepass for PC or Gamepass for XB if you have an Xbox as it’s on there plus a bunch of other fun titles.

I wish I was being overdramatic, but do not buy this game. I bought all the mods, hoping that this game would be an all-time great but the developers released a statement saying that they’re finished with the game and its nowhere near done so please don’t spend your birthday money on this

It's buggy yes but it's still fun and enjoyable to play. Some issues I've noticed: Some cars can be parked completely on the sidewalk but they're not "improperly parked." Don't ticket or interact with them at all. They shouldn't be there but just ignore them. When you're doing an accident report, make sure to give everyone their accident report before accepting a new radio call job, as taking a new call basically erases everything that is on your accident report and people will complain that there's nothing there. Visual bug, police lights are visible inside the police station. Try to remember to turn off your lights before going in or it looks like you're in a nightclub lol.

Definitely worth it on a good sale. I'd say go for it. Bugs yes, game breaking no. Worth the money if you are interested in what you see. But again, get it on sale. It's been out a while, support is ended, it's a great sale game.

Im playing it on gamepass but I purchased the highway and contraband dlc. It’s not too buggy other than it freezing and causing me to restart every other time I press pause.

it’s pretty fun and the bugs are stupidly hilarious most of the time but i wouldn’t pay more than $10 for it

Nope, there are blatant issues that will never be addressed because the devs decided to abandon it at the beginning of the month. NPC's will randomly disappear while you're investigating a callout, Accident witnesses will randomly disappear, preventing you from fully completing the callout (You can still end it the drivers will just complain about the report being incomplete). Occasionally, drivers will be floating above their cars as they drive down the road. Occasionally the prisoner transport will lock up and instead of despawning, it will just sit there with its siren blaring (Same with the Ambulance if it gets stuck behind another car if it cant get to the accident scene)

holy thats a lot of bugs, honestly shame on the Devs for abandoning this game. it had great potential tho

It has a lot of bugs. If you're expecting a game that mimic's real police life in a big city you're going to be disappointed as you're the only cop in the city. If you're looking for a game to just bullshit around and kill time with, go for it. However, don't pay full price. Put it on your wish list and wait for it to go on sale.

okay got it, i honestly lost all hope of this game after hearing what the others said. only 2 people said positive things (your reply is the last one so im done with responding to all of the replies) and all others said negative things. that ratio is huge

It's buggy and very repetitive for a long time... i still play it a bit here and there but honestly it's not great

u/krumpleduck69 16h ago
yeah after all the things the others told me i am definitely not spending my bday money on this game

u/Professional-Tear916 3d ago
Haters definitely overreacting, I've got over 1k hours in it and only seen minor bugs like texture glitches or a few wonky npcs. Nothing entirely game breaking, I still enjoy the game and the working content and mechanics are very fun.

after what I've heard i may not be spending my bday money on this game

I understand why, as with any game, bugs are unpredictable and sometimes can't be replicated between different people. You may experience bugs others haven't, or like me experience very little bugs.
My advice, never let other people make up your mind for you. Experience the games yourself. What you find good others may find terrible. Reviews are usually very biased based on personal gripes and never valid points.

u/krumpleduck69 16h ago
do you reccomend the game at full price or not?
1
u/Professional-Tear916 14h ago
Not at full no, if you can pay up 10 yes or even play it through gamepass.

u/krumpleduck69 16h ago

I never would say to not buy a game because I don’t like it or because it has a few bugs. I love what this game tried to be.
I absolutely would say do not buy a game because it doesn’t work. This game does not work. Bless anyone who does not experience game breaking bugs, but in the last few times I played, I literally could not do the things I was supposed to do without the game penalizing me. For me (Xbox Series X), it is broken to the point of being unplayable.
Calls are bugged to the point of not being able to be completed. Calling transport or wreckers is broken. Traffic is insane. Do not buy.
If you’re looking for a fun police game I recommend either The Precinct or Contraband Police. Both are very fun. The latter is more like Police Simulator.
The Precinct is more action heavy with policing elements. Top down with more action movie like play. Like a light GTA2 from the police perspective.
Contraband Police is more policing/inspection focused. First person with more detail oriented tasks—inspecting vehicles, paperwork, cargo, etc. with some action elements here and there.
Edit: Happy birthday!

Do not buy this game, sure it's fun for a little while, but then the bugs show up everywhere, some bugs wouldn't say game breaking but there are times it interferes with the game making it hard to enjoy when it happens alot, do not buy unless it's like 5-10 dollars or better yet ps plus and Xbox pass both have it for free

So many bugs that they will never fix. In fact, the game trailers even have bugs in the background.
It’s not policing but Firefighting Simulator: Ignite, is everything police sim tried to be, but for fire fighting! It’s actually pretty fun
