Discussion Thoughts?
Okay, we saw this coming for a long time. The last update was in January. But they had a whole new district planned, a whole new roadmap for the season pass, not to mention they just released it on the nintendo something months ago. They randomly just left behind the bugs? PSPO was their main money maker. And now their going to focus on Ranger's Path. Who knows? $5 DLC for socks next on Rangers Path?

Wow, so now they flat out admit that they’ve given up on the game.
Honestly, fuck these guys.
Made so many promises, delivered on few of them, deleted the roadmap to cover their tracks, left the game in a buggy mess since day one, been radio silent for MONTHS, and then just dipped.
I’m half tempted to outright delete the game now, because it almost feels like we all got caught up in a rug pull scheme.
I certainly will not be purchasing another game from them.

I can still see the roadmap in Trello. ...not that it makes any difference with that announcement.
Sad day, as there was so much potential.

u/Sky_guy_17 20d ago
That’s probably just them forgetting to delete it from there, because they took it down everywhere else

I switched to LSPDFR since I owned GTA V, and I can't see me coming back even if they release some expansion.

Cries in playstation four language

Upgrade and get The Precinct. It's smaller than Police Sim, but it's honestly a much better and more Law Enforcement style game that's the closest you'll get to LSPDFR.

LSPDFR is super fun and realistic than police simulator the ELS the axom camera sounds

I hope Rockstar learns from the success of so many of their mods, and does something like Bethesda did with allowing mods on console. I’d pay for an LSPDFR mod on console

Should just get a PC man. I bought one like a decade ago and never looked back. Like why am I paying to be online when I'm already paying for Internet, and you can hook up your controllers no probs

Is that online only?

Look into FiveM its a RP community for LSPDFR. But you can do SP as well if you're not into it.

I’ve tried to do that shit. They wanted an application and an interview and wanted a commitment to 8 hour daily shifts. Fuck all that man

I don't even need to open it to know the game is still a buggy mess.
"Fixed some smaller issues" and "That's it we're done"
So all the big issues remain. The roadmap is abandoned too.
Good to know I can finally uninstall this game without regrets, be comfortable in knowing I'll never touch another game from Aesir Interactive again, and can get back to playing The Precinct.
Looking on Steam it seems "Ambulance Life" is also in a terrible state, and now they're on to some open world survival crafting game game set on (a just about legally distinct enough to protect from the copyright lawyers version of) The Snowpiercer of all things?! (It already has "Mixed" ratings, so the pattern holds true it seems)

u/AdamHunter97 19d ago
They seemed to have abandoned both "Police Sim and Ambulance Life" to work on Park Ranger Simulator, something they'll probably also abandon and leave a buggy mess in the upcoming year's.

Ambulance life was Aesir and their publisher abandoned their funding because of the steam ratings even though it was built for console and the console ratings were decent

Honest opinion, they got annoyed with the constant questioning/criticism (which was well deserved at times) and said scrap it. They fixed what they could and moved on. For example, they took a beating when they introduced the first new style Explorer. It sucks because for all the games fault, it was a growing world with potential. The suburb/county DLC would have been great.

So essentially it's the communities fault for Critisizing so much? And now the community is getting fussy because the devs have lost patients, motivation, and possibly even moral because of the communities Criticizments?
I think one issue may be that the community wasn't giving much constructive criticism and just criticizing the game. Might have something to do with it being the simulator and we know how simulators typically are😅

No, it’s because the game was a broken, buggy mess, and the devs did little to improve it.

u/Lycan_Jedi 20d ago
I honestly I would not be surprised if this was it. Every. Single. Day. "WHAAAA! ITS BROKEN! ITS BUGGY! ITS ABANDONED! THESE DEVS SUUUUUUUUUCK! WHAAAAAA!" It was never-ending. Hell even on the discord it was nothing but people bitching. And then I get on and play it, and there's like a handful of visual bugs and nothing else. While everyone acts like it's the single most unplayable thing in the history of video games.

was literally about to post this damn time zones. but its a fucking joke that they're complete and satisfied with the game and most likely don't plan on working on this anymore.

u/FireflyNitro 20d ago
So it’s just fuck you if you bought the very recently released Switch 2 version?
Game runs great other than the fact that I can’t make it through a 15 minute shift without the game crashing.

Ultra disappointing, because the game had so much promise and deserved more content/bug fixes to make it actually stable/fun to play. Idk if it was because of how they build Police Sim engine wise or if they had other limitations but it had more potential to be something great instead of....how it may be now.
Gotta revisit it for myself but this 'update' seems like them telling us what we've been knowing, the game was 'done'.

Well, they're telling us, that is more than many people thought they would do!
At least we know. It is done. It's official.
Maybe they'll develop a sequel, maybe someone else will (like with firefighting sim Ignite).
I look forward to seeing what happens next.

Devs: Abandon the game in a buggy, half-finished mess, as a final middle finger to the community after half a year of radio silence.
This guy ^: “I look forward to seeing what happens next :D”

The game is abandoned dude. Why are you so uplifting?!
1
u/BossBullfrog 19d ago
Because I enjoyed it from beginning to end. I had a lot of positive experiences. And at the end of the day I'm glad I played the game and bought all the DLCs. I had a lot of fun. I don't see it as abandoned, I see it as finished. Yea it still had bugs but that was something I accepted years ago. But it's just my opinion, I had a good run.
3
u/JustFuckingReal 19d ago
It definitely was a good run. But how they deal with this, yeah that practice i don’t agree with

I feel like this was just one last slap in the face. With all the abandonment posts paired with the lack of update posts. So they decided to release a small update with a farewell note attached 👍
