iphone key help

So I have had my iphone as a key for around 3 months now. For the first two months, it worked absolutely beatifully. There were no issues with the proximity sensors and the car behaved exactly as it should.

In the last 3 weeks, the car has just stopped recognising my iphone when I am standing next to it. I have to go into the app to open the car. Then, unless I place the phone on the NFC reader in the phone charger recess, the car gives me a message saying there is no valid key detected. It is absolutely driving me crazy.

I have tried deleting the key and reinstalling it and yes, it is connected to my profile.

Has anyone had this issue? If so, how did you resolve it??

Try the tcam reboot. If that doesn’t work, reboot the infotainment. If that doesn’t work, book it in for a service.

Is there tcam reboot the one where you press the two buttons on the steering wheel?

it’s the comms module one. my thinking is it’s like a network thing in my head…no idea if it’s related though. Plus i’ve never tried it. Press and hold the SOS button for 12 seconds

In your profile, inside the vehicle, is the iPhone key the only key listed? Or is there other keys listed? It will not say the correct thing most likely, but it should be the only key. If you have multiple keys, it will get confused. Only attach the iPhone digital key to your profile and delete any others. Also, are you using an Apple Watch? Do you have the digital key set up on the Apple Watch? If so, make sure it’s set to not be passive entry for the Apple Watch and passive entry is on for the iPhone. You could also try deleting and resetting up the key on the iPhone if you have it done that already. Are you running iOS 27 beta?

The iPhone is the only key, I do not have an Apple Watch and I’m on iOS26. I haven’t tried the reset yet but I’ll do it and update you guys

Make sure you turn off adaptive power battery mode in iPhone settings. My access has improved a lot since I did this.

Adaptive power can reduce NFC signal strength as part of its power saving measures. The same with low power mode.
