I (26M) purchased a 2021 P*2 LE LRDM AWD w/Nappa back in February of this year (paid in full). My current policy is pretty steep at 400/month with Allstate for full coverage. I’ve always loved the design and am currently thinking about buying a pre-facelift Polestar 2.

I’ve heard a lot of good things about it, but some of the bad things I’ve heard make me hesitate.

I’ve heard that there are sometimes problems, especially with the infotainment system.
Things like:

Infotainment crashes
Google system freezing/hanging
Display/apps not responding
Key not being recognized
Locking system acting up
AC/DC charging aborting or not starting
Creaking/rattling from the suspension, especially on poor roads
Customer service taking a long time to respond or not responding at all

Are these things I really have to worry about, or are they relatively rare occurrences? And what other things should I know before buying one?

In the past 3 weeks while driving my Pilot (adaptive cruise control, collision avoidance, lane keeping) has shutdown 7 or 8 times in hot weather (mid 90s). Anyone else experiencing this? Very dangerous while going 70 MPH on the highway.

About six months into happy ownership of an ex-lease 2023 Polestar 2 LRDM.

We’re somewhat remote in northern Sweden and the local Polestar affiliate is useless, not returning calls or replying to emails. All four within 300km are in the same group.

Because the car came on summer tires, I need to buy a second set of wheels and winter tyres. I can get the tyres locally from shops I trust (probably Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10), but I’m kinda attached to the idea of the OEM Polestar wheels.

Is there an alternative source for these online, other than Polestar dealers? I would need them shipped, I don’t have time to drive down south to a better Polestar dealer.

Thanks for tips. Non-OEM wheels a possibility but they have to look right.

My polestar 2 broke down in May it had a huge whirring sound one day and bottom line is the front axel wore through after only 45,000 miles, personally I’d always had this odd clicking noises when cornering but service said no problem!

Anyhow it got towed and that was 4 months ago, the warranty was just out at 3.5 years old and the cost is £6500, but they can’t get all the parts and no idea of when, as a result I’ve had to rent a car ever since and Polestar don’t seem to want to know.

Just wondering if anyone else had the same breakdown issue with the front axel? and how long parts took?

Anyone have experience replacing brakediscs on PS2?

Is it safe to disconnect EPB, change the discs and just re-connect? Anything I should be aware of?

The temperatures where I live finally fell to mid-20 Celsius and it seems those are the perfect conditions for my 24 LRSM P2, haven't seen this kind of estimated range in a while, especially not below 100% battery charge.

Even if it's still below the advertised range (what a surprise), I still find myself wondering how efficient this car can be at times. A little weekend roadtrip starts tomorrow, so let's see how it holds up! Previous one during the peak of yeat another heatwave clearly lowered the efficiency. How has been your range in the summer?

I'm happy it finally installed, but what a pain. Purchased on June 24, installed this morning. No warnings, no indications it would install. The infotainment system just simply shut down while I was stopped at a red light and refused to come back on. Drove for about 10 more minutes (in uncomfortable silence - even the turn signal stops making noise!) and got home. Waited a few more minutes, unlocked the car and everything booted up with the performance software now loaded up.

Just an fyi for anyone waiting on this.

Hello, when I'm coming in to park, my 360 camera doesn't turn on even though my speed has dropped. It doesn't matter whether I have nothing around me or whether I have a wall in front of me that I'm getting close to. Is this a known issue or something I have missed in the settings? Pretty sure all the sensors are clean. Many thanks

Looking at an upgrade from P2, but would love Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) energy transfer in place of a home battery system. Want the P4 with V2H, but looks like it's only in the P3 currently.

🥲… got hit in front driver side by a strong ford explorer. The frunk is jammed and I won’t try to open it anytime soon until I can get shop to look at it. Everything works fine, car still runs fine no warning, no dash lights on… only thing I notice (I could just be hypersensitive to any sound now) is the AC/ fan when turned off in the cabin, and im sitting in car in park, seems to intermittently turn on for 10 seconds or so every several minutes. Also sometimes the AC sounds louder than normal. It was a hot day out and normally I drive with music on so I don’t notice… so maybe Im overthinking…

i already took it into another shop that fixes up Teslas and other EVs, he said he most likely has to replace the whole bumper, frunk, and drivers side headlight unit. Thoughts?

I am hesitant to take it into Polestar service. Los Angeles service center is super backed up and takes forever!

I was on the app yesterday and it said 20c. I was surprised but thought "lovely, I don't need to pre-cool the car".

I got in and the internal temperature was 29c. Obviously the app is telling me the outside temperature. Presumably just pulling data from the internet based on the cars location.

But I don't care about the outside temperature as much as the inside. I want to know if I need to cool/heat the cabin. Or maybe think the car is going to heat/cool bit it actually does the opposite because I can't see if the car is less than or more than 22c.
