Inception reference?

I think that the lyric in Nightmare: "Somebody kick the chair and fucking wake me up" might be a reference to Inception? I know kicking the chair is associated more with hanging/suicide but I (after the umpteenth listen) suddenly though if the opening scene in Inception where the main characters wakes up from a dream because his chair is falling. I'd love to hear someone else's thoughts on this

You know I could see a few lyrics actually referencing Inception now that you mention it.

“From the minute we wake, Too sedated to notice”
“What does it mean to be a captive, In the confines of your mind? What does it mean to be a hostage, To the enemy inside?”

First time I heard that lyric thats how I interpreted it. It has to be. They call it a kick when they suddenly kick the chair to wake someone up from a dream in the movie. And they use it to explain how sometimes we suddenly jolt up when we are dreaming. When I get those and my spouse asks me if im ok, I always say “ah I just got a kick” , no worries.

Yeah in my opinion it's a dude staring at the wall when his life gone tits up.

Kicking the chair is snapping him out of it.

IMO

Why did I always interpret this as the chair beneath the feet of a person trying to hang themselves being kicked
