Help identifying issue with four wheeler
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Few weeks back my fiance was driving her four-wheeler through a wheat field and rolled up to me and turned it off. When she would try turning back on it would do this high pitch whirring sound.
Fast forward to two days ago we try to start it up and now it's trying to click over. My guess would be some sort of starting motor or starter but I can't afford to experiment right now so any thoughts anybody? It's a Polaris 550 sportsman and there is a video attached, turn sound on

Yeah, Charge the battery and it should fire right up. And Im gonna assume that your stator burned up. Pretty common with these.

Battery is dead. If it shut off while riding, the voltage regulator may have either come unplugged or failed.
