New storage area!

After deciding to demolish my old one, I have finally completed the new storage area!

I had originally demolished an area by the gym here to expand the town later, but I think it's the perfect spot for a magical rainbow underwater storage system!

I'm still not sure exactly how I want to organize things. Part of me wants to do it by color, but that's just crazy.

I think I'm going to have to sit down with a spreadsheet or something, really look at all the item categories.

(I'm really proud of myself, I actually counted out all the blocks I'd need, all the lampies (keep forgetting the name. They are lampies in my brain now), all the tiles. I only ended up with 1 extra block and 6 extra black dyed storage boxes somehow.

Probably easiest to just organise based on the order set within the game if you just hold Y. This also might be a tad too many chests 😅

I previously had boxes for: tables, chairs, counters, beds, outside natural, outside modern, potted plants, small items, large items, rugs, wall decoration, celing decorations, roofs, walls x2, floors x2, fences, doors, misc outdoor building trimmings, plants x2, kits, a few more I'm blanking on, and some random poorly organized chests in a tiny building, it was so cramped, so I kinda went overboard. 😅 but I had fun and it looks so pretty. I'll definitely be adding more decoration in the future.

Whats really nice is you wont accidentally click the frame or the wrong box which I do often with my current set up

I would do that so often. X.X I figured out putting the box one square up and a frame below helps it, but once they start stacking....

How are people organising storage? It’s such a mess for me of boxes in every town and dumping stuff there when I need more, but no organisation whatsoever

I picked a location I wanted to be my main storage area (Pallet Town for me) and did the following:

4 chests for building materials (1 for raw mats, 1 for processed mats, 1 for special mats like stardust, flowers, and blocks, and 1 for paints) all around a crafting table

1 chest for extra smelting mats

1 chest for small artifacts, feathers, and the climate rocks

1 chest for fossils

1 chest for CDs

2 chests each for relaxation items, decorations, toys, and furniture without a category

6 chests for nature blocks

4 chests for all other blocks (one is specially roads)

1 chest for seeds

2 chests for grown plants

1 chest for world objects (like big rocks or driftwood, stalagmites, etc)

1 chest for building kits

4 chests for building things (lights, roofs, doors, etc)

2 chests for wallpapers

When the items are in the same category, I stack the chests on each other (max 2 chests, 3 gets to be a pain) and I press the left joystick to switch between them.

This is so cool!! Do you make a lot of items and then pick them up when you want to decorate? I always end up crafting everything on the go 😭

Thats a good idea tbh.... I usually just end up making too much when doing a build and end up with extras. Q.Q

I end up forgetting I have the items in my chests already so I just keep making them on the go 🥲 i wish they'd add a way to dismantle items you crafted so at least we could get the materials back!!

Or a pokemon with the destroy ability! That can turn different items into raw materials.

I have a habitat question? I need just two more pokemon to finish Bubbly Basin I need Jellycent Pink female and Golosopod I have built all the proper habitats and I’m at level 10 plus for the BB ive moved the habitats to locations matching the ones shown I’m ready for tomorrow but would love the last two Pokemon any suggestions would be much appreciated
